@halleymp3-blog
gonna put halley on a semi-hiatus. work saps my energy and my muse for halley has been low as of late anyway. i’ll still do some replies here and there, but the majority of my time will be put into my gaybie wes.
“You’re welcome.” he replied and sipped his water. “I think this year I’m just going to be watching the parade, but I’ll definitely be there. Of course, I’ll be forcing everyone I know to do karaoke. What about you?”
“Honestly... I think I’m just going to raid the Gay & Lesbian section of Netflix for the rest of the day,” Halley said. “Socializing just... tires me out, I guess.”
skipping out again today for the iceland vs. france game. when did i become such a soccer heaux
off to bed for me! goodnight lovelies<3
“Okay I admit that wasn’t the greatest argument I’ve ever made. I’m a little tipsy, don’t judge me. However, seventy percent isn’t that bad.” She mumbled. “Eh, I’m not great either. I bet more than half of these people are drunk anyways, they might not even remember. If you really don’t want to we don’t have to, but I do think it would be fun.”
“I might consider it... if it was a song I liked,” Halley said, not wanting to disappoint their sister. Who knows how long she would be around for? They might not get to chance to hang out for very long before she had to fly off to film again.
“Iced tea it is.” Avery gave Halley a thumbs up before making his way over to the counter and placing the order. He knew it might be a little awkward he if was the only one drinking, so he ordered himself an iced water. Once the drinks were handed to him, he made his was back to Halley and handed them their tea. “Here you go, my friend.”
Halley crossed their arms over their chest as they waited for Avery to come back. Someone else was on stage now, and at least they were singing worse than Halley had. Probably. Then Avery was back and they accepted the drink with a smile. “Thanks... So, um, do you have any other plans for Pride? Walking in the parade? Forcing more people to do karaoke with you?”
“Okay, I won’t ever make you do anything like that again.” Avery offered his pinky to seal the deal. “Since you were such a good sport though, I’ll buy you a drink. Or whatever you want if you don’t want a drink.”
Smiling stupidly, Halley lifted their hand to seal the pinky-swear deal. “A d-drink?” they said. “I, um... yeah, I don’t drink... but I am feeling very hot right now, so an iced tea might be good.”
“ yo, do not insult dnce like that, ” catalina almost barked at her friend. she knew halley was tired of listening to that song, but that didn’t give them the right to talk about one of her favorite bands like that. “ let’s go with a taylor swift one, even if i’m a calvin supporter. come on, come on. ” she grabbed halley by their wrists and dragged them to the stage, pushing them up the small set of stairs so they couldn’t back down. “ hello friends, i’m lina, this is halley and we’re going to sing out of the woods ! ” she said, her lips against the mic as she glanced at halley and gave them an encouraging smile.
Halley lifted their hands in surrender and laughed. “Okay, Taylor’s good with me. Girl is a music magician.” At least Halley knew every single lyric to every single TSwift song. They had that to look forward to. They let themself be dragged to the stage. “Against my will,” Halley added to the end of Lina’s introduction. The music started and they whispered to Lina. “You start... please.”
lina furrowed her eyebrows at halley. “ what about here by alessia cara ? wait, would that be too obvious ? hm, something by the 1975 ? maybe chocolate ? ”
“I told you I’m fine with whatever,” Halley said, nerves increasing the longer they talked about it. “Ugh, I feel sick... I will even sing that stupid Toothbrush song by Joe Jonas’ band as long as we can get it overwith.”
THIS GAME IS SUCH A MESS. Boateng had a handball, Hummels is out of the semi finals from yellow cards, they’re going to overtime…. YIKES.
Anyone else watching the soccer game? No? Just me? It's awesome. No replies until after it's over :D
“ of course i’m serious. ” lina nodded solemnly, as though she tried with that move to make it more real. she wasn’t completely sure she would be able to do the big chores for a whole month, but she had to try it nonetheless. “ see, that’s the spirit ! any song that you really want to sing ? i was thinking something like i wanna be like you but i’m fine with anything you throw at me. ”
“If I have to choose, it’ll never happen,” Halley said. “Just pick something, as long as I know it I might not be a total failure. And you might have to drag me on stage...”
“But they wouldn’t ridicule you for a lack of skill~” Beckett countered in a very sing-songy tone. Halley sounded the same, a bit shy, a bit stuttery. It was a familiar taste of Toronto and it only helped Beck’s smile grow. Halley was one of the last people they’d probably seen before they took to Europe. “Ah, right. Cut me some slack, it’s been four years, give or take a couple of months.” Getting in line to order, Beck added, “No, you don’t have to buy mine. Like, ever.”
“Okay, some slack has been cut,” Halley joked. Halley followed Beck to the line. “Not fair. I don’t like owing people anything...” It would be different if Beck was a stranger, Halley had no problem mooching off of people they didn’t know because he’d never have to pay them back. But with friends, it felt weird. “London fog is my favourite tea.”
“Aw, come on! Please?” She begged with a small pout. Getting up on a stage wasn’t exactly Hayley’s forte, despite her profession. But with a few drinks already in her system, she could care less at this point. “It’ll be fun, I promise. When have I ever steered you wrong? And there’s only like a seventy percent chance this will end up online.”
“You think that a chance of it being online will still make me want to?” Halley asked. “I dunno, Hayls... I can’t sing. It would just be humiliating.”
logging off for the night! any responses for wes and halley will be done in the morning. i’ll be around all day tho (except to watch the germany vs. italy soccer game) so hmu for threads or plots or watever :D
Beckett made a face of contemplation. They then shrugged. “No worries, singing isn’t everyone’s forte. But I’m sure your shampoo bottles would enjoy a performance.” They weren’t going to force someone who wasn’t comfortable on a stage to go up there. They smiled a dimpled smile, head tilted and eyes warm. “Can I buy my old dormmate a coffee?”
“They wouldn’t make much of an audience,” Halley joked. It was nice seeing Beck again, it felt like ages since they’d last been roomies. “O-Oh, sure, I guess you can... but you should let me buy yours another time. I prefer tea though, remember?”
