I just now realized I've never done a proper blog introduction. Well, hello there folks. I'm Heather. This is my Halloween side blog. (main blog - poisonsthecure.tumblr.com) I haven't been on here for awhile, but I felt the need to come back. So here I am. I've never been on this blog on anything other than mobile, so it probably looks like garbage when you're not on mobile (let's be honest, it's garbage anyways) but I'll take care of that someday probably. I created this blog to represent my love for all things Halloween related. Everything I post or reblog are usually things that either make me incredibly happy or get me in a super spooky mood. So maybe you'll feel that same way as you scroll through this messy blog. I think that covers everything I wanted to say. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, etc, you can always message me to let me know. I hope Halloween 2k16 was a blast for everyone, and I hope Halloween 2k17 turns out even better.

Trick-or-Treating Safety Tips:

I know this has been said time and time again, but as Halloween draws near, don’t forget to worry about the safety of your friends, family and yourself!

If you are a parent, guardian or older sibling who will be taking a little one with them to go trick or treating this year, please make sure to inspect all candy before they consume it.

If you are going to be leaving a bowl on the front porch unattended, but will be home, please check on it periodically to make sure nobody has left anything unwanted inside the bowl.

If you are going to hand out candy, do a once-over (at least) on the candy in your bowl before handing the candy out, even if you just unpackaged it. Check for already open or torn candy wrappers. Remove them from your mix.

Try to refrain from leaving any bowls unattended for an extended period of time. If you aren’t going to be home, it would probably be best if you don’t leave out any candy.

If you are young and your parents/guardians/older siblings cant be with you, please try to go with a few friends. Never go trick-or-treating alone.

Make sure not to dress in all black. Make sure you can still be seen by drivers in the dark.

Flashlights, reflective tape, light colored clothing and glow sticks work great to help you be seen by drivers.

Don’t take random treats from people walking along the sidewalk or road. I know this is kinda strange to say since you’re taking candy from strangers on their front porch, but if it doesn’t feel safe, it probably isn’t.

Be kind to EVERYONE. There will be both physically and mentally disabled children (and adults) out on Halloween. Don’t push through them to get your candy, don’t be rude and if someone asks for help, please help them.

IF you are going to be driving around or out that night, be cautious of everyone, especially in residential areas which will be more crowded than usual.

Trust your gut. Like I said above, if it doesn’t feel safe, it probably isn’t safe.
