Sorry this took a while...
So much black. Y/n stares glumly at her reflection. Her dark hair clung to her head, not having been washed and now greasy. Her oversized t-shirt engulfed her entire upper body. A low waisted black jeans adorned her legs and a pair of slides completed her outfit. Marvelling at the dark circles under her eyes she raised her hands to her hair and braided her hair to finish her look. She looked hopeless.
“Woah! New look Y/n?” Jin asked her as she walked into his office. “something like that...” she trailed off. He took her seat opposite to him and waited patiently for him to arrange his papers. He pulled out a little brown folder and a pen, chewing at it as he waited for Y/n to start talking. He turned on the stopwatch on his phone. The little landline on his table suddenly rang and he excused himself and answered it. Y/n gave him the privacy any decent human would, not listening in but letting a few words fall to her ears. Jin kept the phone down within around two minutes and then turned to Y/n. “so... tell me, what can I do for you?”
Swallowing the lump in her throat she spoke. “I-I'm getting nightmares. I don't-I can't cope with all that is happening around me.” She fumbled. Jin sighed before he spoke up “I think we established that you don't need to stress over studies as much, Y/n.” He replied calmly. “I know! I-its not that. It's those trips to the police station and the murders...
Benji, the patient. I don't understand how he ended up dead right after I met him and then that man in the alley. People I interact with just somehow end up dead. I can't help but feel it's all because of me. Worst of all is that I have to keep going to the police station over and over again and I am forced to see those-those harrowing sights of m-mutilated corpses over and over again. Those details and sights rob me of my sleep and appetite. I have lost five kilos in the past week! It feels like whatever I eat is bloody and any shut eye that I get is just an opportunity for my brain to replay all those horrifying images. I-I feel so... lost” she said, burying her face in her hands. Jin nodded sympathetically from experience he knew she had more to say. “Jin... I hate him. I hate that police officer. He seems to enjoy it you know? I can't help but feel that he enjoys tormenting me. He says things like that, shows me thongs like that. I always leave disturbed and I always, always feel like prey when I walk back home. I keep turning on my heel to make sure I'm not being followed or hunted. I'm terrified of him. I try. I try to steer away from anything that could put me in a situation where I have to go and see him again. But whoever it is that is on this killing spree just doesn't seem to get that basic idea”
Jin spoke up now, ” I get what you're saying Y/n. But I just find it amusing how you have decided to burden yourself with this entire predicament. Perhaps those murders were purely coincidental for what I remember of those two men is that they were both horrible people. You know you're innocent, I know that you're innocent, the officer does too, I'm sure. He is just doing his job and making sure. About that I feel that perhaps you should just comply with him. Don't let your paranoia get the best of you like this. Alright? You have no reason to worry. You've got your friends, your family, a great future ahead of you and your doctor to help you put of terrible and rough times.” Jin consoled, adding a little wink in the end.
Y/n let a rueful smile grace her lips before mumbling “compliance would mean me ending up in jail.”
“then so be it!” Jin said bluntly. “you'll be put of jail too. You are not a criminal. When murders continue even when you're in jail everyone will know that it isn't you.” Y/n nodded her head in a silent agreement. “Just.. about your sleep and appetite loss, I'm prescribing these pills, consume them twice a day, start tonight, before meal and the other before bed. Alright?” she nodded again and that was that. Their session ended there. She took the prescription and her belongings, thanked him for his time and made her way out the office. She paid the bill at the reception and walked back home. It felt strange. Wasn't it supposed to make her feel better? Isn't that the purpose of therapy, but it scared her. Would she end up in jail if she complied? Would there be murders when she would be in jail? Will the police be able to link those murders with her?
Back in his office, Jin stared at the landline with huge, terrified eyes. He didn't feel safe either. He didn't think it wise to tell you what that call was about, but he knew, he had got the message loud and clear and he would be lying if he said he didn't understand the underlying threat in those statements. His frantic eyes then noticed, how the receiver was placed. With a jerky movement he pressed it down on the phone. A dull beep was heard on the other end of the line, signalling the end of the call. The man at the other end smiled to himself, a crazed gleam in his eyes ‘ oh sweet Y/n... the police officer? Why didn't you say so earlier? I'd do anything for you. Kill anyone for you .’
