Are you sitting pretty? The dining experience is won or lost by the comfort of the chairs – even 5 star cuisine can be marred by an uncomfortable seat (not that my cooking gets any more appealing even on the finest chairs)!! When choosing dining chairs there are a few key factors, read our latest blog for more details http://bit.ly/2qx6455
Are you dressed for success? One’s morning routine is somewhat engrained and for me one key element of that is the ritual of applying my makeup and for that a dressing table plays a key part. Not only a place to apply but also store my makeup, hair spray, perfume and the like, so storage space is paramount. Dressing tables come in a variety of different shapes and sizes; some with drawers, mirrors, and stools too. It is always a good idea to find one that has lots of storage space, ideally drawers – big or small, the more the merrier!
When literally living life in the fast lane who really has time for dusting??? So why make life hard for yourself I say; why not try living behind glass.
Dinner guests over Easter? If you are anything like me there never seems to be enough seats at the table when you have guests. Whether you have a traditional dining room, a living room diner or a kitchen diner, the dining table is a central feature. So what are your options? Extending tables – If day to day you only need 4 seats but occasionally you need more then look out for a table that extends.
Spring Cleaning... Top Tips So spring is now upon us - 20th March is the official first day of spring. So all the stereotype
In the Kitchen I have been converted… My mother has been telling me for years that drawers are much more space efficient than cupboards as you can see and more importantly get to all the available space; and finally, I am converted to her way of thinking. Drawers have won the day!
What’s in a colour?
Kitchen dining doesn’t have to be drab The traditional kitchen table that was the work horse of the kitchen has been replaced by elegant dining. With more families making the kitchen the heart of the home with open plan living and the overall trend towards kitchen dinners, the humble kitchen table must serve up everyday breakfast, lunchtime snacks as well as elegant dinner parties. Define your dining area using colour Colour can play a key role in defining areas within open space, visually creating definition. Clever use of colour can make areas appear larger or smaller, or open areas appear sectioned. Add colour to define your dining area – rugs, wall panels or soft furnishings all come together to create the visual space definition.
According to the internet the top ranking New Years resolution is to Lose Weight / Healthier Eating. If you are anything like me then year on year by the 10th of January
Snow day... No way!! Where is all this snow they promised... in Worcestershire we have had very little at least. The thought of a few days of snow really brings me to thinking about a cosy homestead and how easy it can be to create.
As the New Year approaches
Is your full length flawless?
Tis the season... With 2017 just around the corner and 2016 about to drawer to a close, our thoughts turn to family… yes we are about to be invaded - in the nicest possible way obviously! Its no good there is no going back, you invited them to come for that party, that dinner, that gathering… and now you have multiple mouths to feed and more importantly bums to seat. So with just days to go till the big event what can you do? Clear the clutter When the house is full, having excess clutter around the place can make the house feel ten times smaller than it really is. So chuck what you can and clear down the surfaces to open us the space. If you can’t bear to part with everything and need extra storage space then look for pick up pieces of furniture with hidden storage space such as blanket boxes and trunks. Top tip: a blanket box coffee table if sturdy enough could double as occasional seating with a cushion topper. Drawer the room together with colour By bringing to
So, what is your preference – real or fake? Obviously, I am talking Christmas trees… As the festive time of year approaches its time to ‘Dec the halls’ and ‘jingle’ those bells, but what will you be hanging your baubles on this year? A real Christmas tree or an artificial one?
So you have planned out the layout of our room but have you thought about everything??
Living room layouts can be controversial… Do you have every seat facing the TV, make the most of the feature fireplace or do you have the surround sound sweet seat?? My husband and I are doing some much needed renovation to our house and the focus at the moment, is all about the living room layout. To cut a long story short the previous owners knocked the living and dining room together
