Annie was annoyed. Her last client had booked for a trim but came in requesting a color, turning the half hour appointment into a nearly two hour one. Sure, she could’ve said no, but Annie needed the money. The distraction. Not that it would stop her from entering Masen’s with a dissatisfied sigh, or from sitting at the bar with a scowl on her face. “Why can’t people just like –– be honest?” she asked no one in particular. It would save the town from a lot, and would save Annie the trouble of a headache from last-minute changes. Maybe someone would even fess up to her sister’s murder. She shook her head and placed her head in her hands, groaning out a vague request for ‘something strong’ to the bartender.
‘ because that’s not how the world works , no one is really honest anymore and if you say you are then i’m sorry but that’s a lie . ’ gail swilled her drink around the cup and took a sip . as the younger girl ordered a drink , gail held out her credit card to the bartender to pay for it for her , it seemed like she needed it .
now-its-3am:
making her way back inside the bar after downing a couple shots in the kitchen without joanna or thomas seeing, ash ran a hand through her hair and took a deep breath before approaching a new face for the night. “alright, you look like you could use a drink. what can i do you for?” flashing a smile, ash leaned her elbows against the bar and looked up at the person in front of her as she waited for their order.
‘ vodka . with ice , please . ’ gail smiled and sat on one of the stools in front of the bar . she looked around the room as she waited for her drink , she looked back to ash and pursed her lips . ‘ whatever you want too , ash . my treat . ’

‘ ... you need to keep your voice down , you don’t know who could be listening . ’ gail looked around trying to see if anyone was listening to her conversation but thankfully they were clear . she handed the guy a small baggie and waited for him to walk away . she jumped as someone appeared in her eyeline as she turned to walk away . ‘ you know , you’d think of all the people in all the places in the world , the people of lakeview would know not to sneak up on people . ’
GAIL GREEN.
(DICHEN LACHMAN, female, she/her) Welcome to Lakeview, gail green! We hear that you are 39 years old. You’ve been in town for 39 years? You should get to your job as a “pharmacist” drug dealer. I hear that it fits your philosophical and destructive personality. Don’t be out on Route 9 alone! (ellis, 29, they/them, gmt)
