Vinland Saga shipping stats (ao3)

I found an old Vinland Saga ao3 ship statistic from 2024 but it had some restrictions in their measuring criteria and since it's been a while since then I took a look at it myself. Because not every fic is a ship fic and some include multiple ships, I'm just gonna list those with the highest numbers, no fancy graphs or percentages.

Criteria:

• All Vinland Saga fanfics (Manga only (344) + Manga/Anime (1174) + Anime only (171) = 1689 total)

• Ship has 10 or more fics minimum

• only "A/B" canon ship tags

• includes all locked fics & languages

I had to countercheck the numbers because the "tag search->sort by uses" options seemed to give out wrong numbers, not sure how those are counted...

The order of names has no meaning btw, since it's fixed on ao3 anyway.

Because Askefinnweek 2026 has ended just recently I had to make a little update for the top three, since the was some change.

So as of today (28 April 2026) the new top three ao3 Vinland Saga ships are:

1.) Askeladd x Thorfinn (363) ↑

3.) Askeladd x Bjorn (189) [new]
