It was Christmas day and Washington decided to throw a Christmas party for his comrades. He had made dinner, baked cookies, and made his house look like Elves had came and thew up everywhere. On the guest list was Lafayette, Hamilton, Laurens, Burr, Mulligan, Jefferson, and Madison. Washington had even set up a secret santa for them. The party started at five o'clock. Around four fifty-five, people started coming in. The first to arrive was Lafayette, Hamilton, Laurens, and Mulligan, the Hamilsquad. They all had gifts in their hand and Laf even decided to bring a French dish. It of course was a potato dish, since the French love their potatoes (seriously, they do). The second to arrive was Burr, and lastly Jefferson and Madison. Washington wasn't sure how things would turn out with Hamilton and Jefferson being in the same room, but he hoped for the best. The party started out fantastic. Everyone sat around the table and ate together. No one fought or caused any trouble, which was surprising for Hamilton. Lafayette's potatoes were delicious too. He took lots of pride in them. Jefferson was also pleased with them, since he's a Francophile. After dinner came the secret Santa. It was hard to get all of the boys into the living room, since Martha kept pinching their cheeks. Especially Madison. Poor guy. She liked him because he was small. When they finally got started, they all sat in a circle around the Christmas tree. Madison's secret Santa was Burr, he had gotten the little guy scented candles. The whole time, Madison was smelling them. Burr's secret Santa was Laurens, Laurens got him a book about how to make him better with the ladies. Burr had mixed emotions about it. Laurens's secret Santa was Lafayette, he had gotten him a huge teddy bear with the phrase "raise a glass to freedom" on it. Laurens couldn't stop hugging it. Lafayette's secret Santa was Hamilton, Laf got a stuffed baguette with a mustage and barrette. Laf named him Pepe. Hamilton's secret Santa was Jefferson. Ham got two gifts. One was a stress ball so he wouldn't get angry in cabinet meetings and tell people where his shoe would fit, and the other was a new quill. Ham hugged him...which was new. Jefferson's secret Santa was Washington, he got a French cuisine cook book. Man, does he love France. Washington's secret Santa was Mulligan, he got suspenders with Virginia writes down them. And Milligan's was Madison, he got paintings of horses. The whole thing was a success. No fighting or anything, which is exactly what Washington wanted. The rest of the evening was spent eating Christmas cookies, watching Christmas movies, and even more check pinching from Martha.
