It's snowing in the city of Rangeski, Massachusetts. The skyline of the city is covered in a misty haze caused by the falling snow and clouds. A few of the skyscrapers are missing their upper floors from the lower hanging clouds, and throughout the city are little beacons of light from offices or apartments where people are still awake at this ungodly hour. Upon one of these skyscrapers is a man, standing at the edge and staring down at the streets below, streets that would often be bustling with people with places to be, jobs to fulfill, lives to live. Yet, these streets are mostly empty due to the cold, snow covering the streets, and the aforementioned ungodly hour.
The man wears a blue hoodie, a pair of jeans, with black running shoes that make small imprints in the snow from the day before. Yet, no tracks lead up to this manās arrival at the edge as if he had just appeared there. His hair, jet black and almost shoulder length, waved in the slight breeze in which the snow blew. His icy blue eyes were still staring at the street below him before his frozen gaze was broken by the sound of buzzing in his right pocket. He then quickly grabbed the phone and put it up to his ear.
āHello?ā He asked, not expecting anyone to be up at this hour.
āKaskae, where are you? This party has been going on for about an hour, and you havenāt even bothered to show up!ā A womanās voice appeared on the phone, her voice carrying a hint of sunshine, filled with wonder and aspirations.
Kaskae smiled. Of course, there was a party he was supposed to go to with Summer. He had forgotten. He let out a small chuckle, āHey, no worries, Iām on my way. I told you Iād be there, right?ā He reassured her, his voice sounding nonchalant for someone standing right on the edge of a skyscraper hundreds of feet in the air.
āYou did, but you also forgot to mention just how late youād be,ā Summer stated. From the sound of her voice, it was easy for Kaskae to tell she was grinning behind the line. āJust hurry up and get here. Youāll miss out on the food.ā Summer added, āSee you soon, bye! Love ya!ā She then hung up, and suddenly the sound of the breeze was the only thing that could be heard.
Kaskae closed his eyes, huffed, then put his phone in his pocket. He stood at the edge for about ten seconds before groaning. āJeez, so pushy.ā He then laughed as he leaned towards the edge, his feet slipping off the edge before he went into a free fall. The icy wind flowed through his hair as he began to fall hundreds of feet in the air. He opens his eyes as he reaches about halfway down the building before the snow around him begins to coalesce him, and with only seconds left before hitting the ground, he vanishes.
I think it would be very cool to be able to breathe underwater. Expressly for the purpose of sitting on the seafloor and closing your eyes and blocking out noise except for the water. So peaceful. I think that would fix me
