eliza character analysis

i have spent a while pondering why everyone including myself loves eliza so much and i eventually came to this conclusion.

eliza is not beautiful because phillipa soo is beautiful, although she is.

eliza is beautiful because she knows who she is. she accepts herself. she knows her own flaws and highlights and can find the beauty in herself.

eliza is not confident, or bold, or funny. angelica is all of these things, but angelica is not the one to win hamilton.

despite angelica's outward appearance, inside she doesn't have half the peace that eliza does.

eliza understands that she is not as gorgeous or talented or smart as her sister (though this really isnt accurate phillipa is perfect). eliza accepts all these things and even learns to relish in them.

that's why eliza schuyler is beautiful. because she loves herself, despite everything.
