Back at it again with more fanart inspired by a fic (and a tiktok in this case). I was reading The Sun and the Sea by idkguys which is inspired by karolineprihodko's Princess and the Jester video (which I have also been obsessed with lol) and decided I needed to bring the crossover to life. It's not a full redraw (as you can probably tell lol), but I drew all the overlay elements to transform the Princess and the Jester video into the Chieftess and the Blue Spirit. I flipped the Jester so that the jester hat/mask covered his left eye rather than his right. Can't have the scar on the wrong side, of course. 😝 Hope you like!! PS: Yes, that is Hahn she's talking to. 😁

I don't know who needs to hear this but the masculinisation of Black women is caused by misogynoir and the need to dehumanise and mock Black womanhood it's not everytime a gnc Black woman just like... exists. The constant 'why does the Black woman have to be masculine and mannish and ugly and brutish and not soft, pretty and feminine' everytime there's a queer gnc coded Black woman or lord forbid, a canon or real life form of representation for gnc Black women is starting to feel real backhanded.

Black women can be soft and feminine and we deserve to reclaim that, but we also have the right to experiment with our gender presentation. We have the right to claim masc aesthetics especially the ones we literally made. It's not a moral failing for Black women, especially queer Black women to be masculine.

sometimes a trans woman wins against a cis woman. sometimes a cis woman wins against another cis woman too. yet only one of them is allowed to win without facing consequences.
