Pancaking hamsters are always cute right? If you notice that your hamster is pancaking flatter than usual, that means your ham is overheating! Here's some ways to help your ham cool down this summer!

Find a smooth small surface, maybe made out of stone or marble, or any of the sort! Then place the small surface in the freezer for around an hour (or as long as you see fit). When out the freezer, it should be cold but not too cold, and place it in your hamsters enclosure. This gives them a place to lay and cool down, plus you get to see them pancake at a comfortable level! :)

Grab a small water bottle or a small ice pack and place them into the freezer for as long as you see fit, and then put it inside a sock or wrap it in a towel. Make sure its securely wrapped so the hamster can't get through. Then place it somewhere in their cage! They can use this and lay next to it and just hang around for a chill spot. This method is typically used for guinea pigs, but it can be helpful for hamsters too! Just make sure your enclosure is big enough to fit it in their cage!

Putting their water in the freezer for a couple of minutes can also help them cool down a lot! You can put their water bottle or water bowl in the freezer for a little bit and then place it back in their enclosure! This is the easiest way to help your hamster battle the heat! Please resist the urge to put ice in their water, thats not necessary!

Make sure whatever vegetables or fruits you give them are cold and fresh! Never forget to feed in moderation, as too much can upset their stomach :(
