You can bet ur arse that not only did Sirius and Regulus learn fluent french but they were also probably required to do other pretentious shit like fencing and ballet and play the piano and they never tell their friends about this (especially Sirius) but when they get drunk or don’t think anyone is around, these skills just emerge

Like one time Sirius gets drunk in the Gryffindor common room and out of nowhere stands up off the sofa and starts doing a flawless ballet routine to the music being played whilst maintaining eye contact with Moony. And the rest of the Marauders (and Gryffindor as a whole) are so confused because Sirius is in his Sixth year so surely they would have found out about this by now

Or maybe Lily sees Sirius and Regulus having a conversation in the library which is unusual in itself given how little they get along so she tries to eavesdrop what they are saying but as she gets closer she realises they are both rapidly talking in french so she has no hope in hell at understanding them

kinda annoying about letting you take his hoodies, like hell buy hoodies solely for you to wear not understanding you want it to smell like him and therefore need hoodies he actually wears, so hell just spray it with his cologne and still doesnt understand when you say it's not the same (all that romance knowledge and he doesn't get something as simple as hoodie stealing)
