Hanapin's Top 4 Bloomington Outdoor Destinations
Ooooowee!
We sure do love living and working in Bloomington, IN. Along with great beer, food, music, and nightlife, we do a lot of outdoor adventuring in and around our corner of gorgeous Southern Indiana. Our HanaFamily is super active (I mean, have you heard of our awesome sauce Wellness initiative, HanaFit?!) and we all agree, Bloomington is the perfect place to be an active hiker, biker, boater, pup-lover, food-eater, all-around go-getter.
So here are our Top 4 Favorite Outdoor Destinations! Brace yourself for a lot of beauty, friends.
#1 Lake Monroe
Lake Monroe makes the top of our list for #1 Outdoor Desitinations. Summertime is the time to be at the lake--- You might find a HanaPeep swimming, boating, canoeing, or kayaking in Indiana's largest manmade lake. Located only 15 minutes outside of town (a lovely little drive, to add), Lake Monroe holds infinite possibilities for fun-in-zee-sun activities.
#2 Regional Hiking Trails
Brown County, IN in the fall
McCormick's Creek State Park
So you are an avid hiker and you wish to be subjected to some of the most majestic forests in the Midwest?? Well, Bloomington and surrounding areas are where you need to be! Making #2 on our list are the regional hiking trails, specifically McCormick's Creek State Park and Brown County, IN. Hanafolks simply adore the fall foliage, waterfall hikes, and pleasant terrain in and around these two locations. Most trails are open all year round, providing possibilities even for those brave winter-hiking souls. Take a look at our gorgeous backyard!
#3 Bloomington Community Farmer's Market
Any foodies out there? We have a TON inside our Hanapin walls, and they all adore, above all else, the Bloomington Community Farmer's Market. Located right in the heart of downtown Bloomington (right outside our office as well!) farmers come from all over the state to join the local food movement wonder that is the Market. Cheese, meats, flowers, veggies, coffee, crepes, pastries, puppies, you name it, our market has it!
Always in full bloom during the summer months, The Farmer's Market is actually active year round, with fall market months and the Winter Farmer's Market, an indoor experience active during the coldest part of the year.
#4 The B-Line Trail
Spanning a total of 3 miles, Bloomington's B-Line trail extends from the east side of town, through downtown, past the Hanapin office (!), and into the south side of the city. A fully paved and incredibly efficient travel tool, the B-Line is a Hanafamily favorite for biking, running, or traveling to and from the Farmer's Market. Whilst enjoying the sunshine and a nice daily stroll, one may find installations from local artists, including several sculptures and community murals.
We here at the office have been listening to Spice Girls Pandora ALL DAY. #insidehanapin #hanafamily #spiceupyahlife
Hanafolks had so much fun in zee sun at the Bloomington Strawberry festival!
Sales team member Luke Cardona won a free lunch for 7 employees through Bloomington's B97 radio station! Look at these amigos enjoying some Mexican food with the B97 dudes!
Do you need motivation to be creative, or is it enough to simply be attentive?
It’s an interesting question to ask, particularly because the belief that you have to pursue creativity in order to achieve it has been propelled for so very long.
As Pablo Picasso once famously quipped: …
Love the title: “Creativity doesn’t need motivation”—Here at Hanapin, one of our 5 core values is creativity. We are constantly finding new and creative ways to make a difference, be it in our accounts, or our lives as well!
The History Of Graphic Design, In Icons
We know two things for sure about the guys over at Brooklyn’s Pop Chart Lab: they love drinking, and they love good graphic design. Their latest poster is a tribute to the entire history of the latter:

Hanapin's Top 5 Office Pandora Stations
Our beautiful town of Bloomington is known for its impeccable taste and variety of music, and here at Hanapin, there is never a shortage of tunes around the office!
We <3 our Sonos, and Pandora is our go-to source for all things boppin' and shakin' and rock n rollin' while we work the day away. Polling all the Hanafolks, here are our Top 5 Office Pandora Stations to jam to at the office!
#1 90's
Hanafolks love kicking it back a bit and remembering our beloved years growing up in the 90s: whether we were in elementary, middle, or high school, we all enjoy the sparkling perfection of Mariah Carey, The Cranberries, Will Smith, Dr. Dre, Nirvana, and the like. Round these parts, we are super stoked to jam to one of our ultimate favorites "Summer Hits of the 90s"-- can I get a yes, please?!
#2 80's
Taking it back even a little further and you'll see us jamming to the hits of the 80s. Think big hair, Madonna, lot's of denim, and even more sparkly blue eye shadow. Nothing like loosing up our feet a bit while we punch out some stellar pivot tables.
#3 Disney
FOR THE KID IN ALL OF US, RIGHT? I'd be lying if I said I have never secretly wanted to belt Ariel's "Part of Your World" whilst churning out a utilization report. Here at Hanapin we adore the simple, fun moments of childhood!
#4 Justin Timberlake
Nothing like a little JT to get your day going. This station is packed with guilty favorites such as Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Miley Cyrus. Whatever, Party in the USA is a really great song. So catchy. We <3 our pop here at Hanapin!
#5 LCD Soundsystem
A little indy-rock persuasion sets the mood right here in the office! We can jam to these dudes all day, if we need to.
We love our Hoosiers here in Bloomington! Here is Alka Du Mont (Client Services Manager) and friends at an IU Football game-cheering on the Cream and Crimson!

Hanapin's Top 5 Craft Breweries
#1 Upland Brewery: Wheat Ale, Dragonfly IPA, and Teddy Bear Kisses are some favs
#2 Bell's: Hanafolks <3 <3 Two Hearted and Hopslam
#3 Three Floyd's: You can find us sipping on some Zombie Dust, Live A Rich Life, Arctic Panzer Wolf, or Gumballhead in complete bliss
#4 New Day: Give it up for the mead! Some folks adore the seasonal delight of the Breakfast Magpie and Snap Dragon
#5 Jolly Pumpkin: You might find us throwing back a few La Rojas or the ever popular October ale, La Parcela (pumpkin beer!)
Where can you find these awesome sauce brews? Well, right here in our town!
Upland Brewery
A local favorite, Upland has been brewing great hops, wheats, stouts, and the like, since 1998. Taking traditional recipes and brewing them in a distinctly stellar Bloomington fashion, Upland distributes beer all over Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Louisville, KY, and southern Wisconsin. We do love our local brews, Upland was definitely the Doberman in this competition!
Some favorite Bloomington restaurants that carry Upland: Upland Brewery (duh), Nick's English Hut, Yogi's Bar and Grill
Bell's
Hailing from our neighbors in the north, Kalamazoo, Michigan's Bell's Brewery is a true gem nationwide. Working with some insanely good-tasting recipes, you can find Bell's at a multitude of hot spots around our town.
Some Favorite's: The Bishop Bar, Feast, Mike's Uptown Cafe
Three Floyd's
Our pals up in Hammond, IN have concocted a genius plan: they make super sauce beer, people fall in love with it, they pretty much rule the world. Three Floyd's is scrumptious with every sip, and the folks at Hanapin call this a top 3 favorite.
Where can you find Three Floyd's: The Tap, Finch's Brasserie, FARM Bloomington
New Day
Not exactly craft beer, New Day Craft up in Indianapolis produces some really excellent craft meads. Their seasonal Breakfast Magpie is a meal in itself, so delicious, one does not need to pair it with anything save a cup of joe, perhaps.
Where can you find New Day: Big Red Liquors (by the bottle), The Tap, Finch's Brasserie
Jolly Pumpkin
Another fantastic beer from our neighbors in the north! Dexter, Michigan's Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales has been pumping out some great brews since 2004. You can catch some thirsty Hanafolks sipping on their delectable Pumpkin Ale (La Parcela) in the Fall months, or all year round on their Flander's Red Ale, La Roja.
