“ did they ? did they invent electricity, too ? is thomas edison just a lie they tell us, or is he a time traveller too ? ” he knew some things, after all, but theta was good at making him question his perception of reality. part of why was when he noticed theta deep in thought about something that could’ve happened hundreds of years ago or only a decade ago. “ well, i better see a torch on the next model. and i want the credit, too. ” walt tried to cheer him up, ignoring the fact that he might not be around by that time.
“ i’m just saying, ” he defended, brushing his hand softly over theta’s shoulder. he definitely wanted to stay close to him in here, mostly for his own comfort — surely this thing didn’t scare the multi-centennial at all. “ yes, i’m ready. i don’t have any signal up here, so i don’t have to worry about mum trying to ring me. ” he was only gone for a few minutes down there, but it still felt better to imagine her thinking about him when he was walking into danger.
he took in walter’s reply, both of them ready for this quick ship visit. theta slowly opened the tardis door, stepping out into a dark tunnel, not even able to see his surroundings. ‘ smells pretty off. and i can’t seem to hear much... ’ breathing in the air, the repulsive smell of the ship didn’t phase theta. as a timelord, theta didn’t let much phase him, a simple smell couldn’t weaken him, unlike his human companion.
‘ HELLO? I SEE THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MY SHIP! ’ the lord shouted into the darkness, voice echoing down the halls. there was no response, a silence coming back to theta, a punishment for disturbing this peaceful darkness. theta replied to this silence with a annoyed humph. sliding into his deep jacket pocket, his sonic screwdriver was pulled out and already scanning the area, out of habit.
