‘ A mark in every face I meet

I HAVE PRINTS (^▽^) ‘I Look For You in Everyone’ - limited edition of 25 for USD $40. Each print is embossed and stamped with my signature, and comes with a hand-punched certificate of authenticity.
The super kind and talented folks at Rhino Barking Sparrow approached me recently for print representation. Not gonna lie, it’s daunting to attempt to sell prints among the likes of amazing artists that I’ve been a fan of, but it’s an awesome place to start and I’m just happy to have some quality prints on offer.
RBS are super supportive of all the artists they represent and that matters a lot to me.
Any support would be greatly appreciated, I know money is tight so even just sharing / reposts would rock my world as I’ve had a little influx of new followers earlier this week. Best x
Did some quick color tests (done digitally to help when I start painting the original) and thought I’d GIF the sucker.

Made for Out of Step Books‘s most recent art call. The theme - titled Enchanted - revolved around artistic interpretations of myths and fables. I based my piece on the Greek myth of Leda and the swan, aka Zeus being a dirty old man and having strange notions of women being attracted to birds.
How did you become such a good illustrator? any tips?
I think the only tip I can give is the generic “practice practice!” answer that most people give. The only way to improve is to be constantly creating and trying to learn something with each piece you make (even if it’s just a scribble or doodle).
A useful starting point for me was to study the work of illustrators that I really liked. By study I mean ask yourself “why do I like this so much, what makes this look so good to me?” This can help you get a sense of the elements you want to incorporate into your own work. It’s sort of like referencing a photo (but trickier since of course you don’t want to just copy or imitate another person’s style). It’s just a way to start practicing while also developing your own aesthetic. I started out drawing lots of animal characters from Disney, anime, and comics non-stop when I was younger, because I loved the stylized proportions and lines. Eventually I expanded what I was capable of rendering, which at this point is more realistic and detailed rather than cartoon-y. (Example: I draw lots of wolves and foxes, but once upon a time they all looked like Balto and The Animals of Farthing Wood.)That is only one person’s process though, I hope it can still be helpful :)
