You know I kind of want to know Why the writers for DNA immediately went for that kind of story on release. While I wouldn't say Every Single One of them are, f2p anime RPGs trend toward a more self-indulgent fantasy stories (in theme, not genre) — and when they do get political, it takes several years to reach that point. But then with this fuckin thing, Every Single main quest from up the first one, to the latest one, DNA's mq has been inseparable from politics. You cannot discuss the how and why characters and especially factions in DNA do xyz in mq without bringing up politics. In a way I'm glad the writers did this because I'm getting a bit tired of stories of this genre of game being so toothless most of the time, but also holy fucking shit please don't fumble so badly down the line dear writers. It's a tricky thing to write, when you have Something you really want to say right out the gate

I still need to chew it properly but while for me the Silver Torrent, Rising Star mq isn't as hard hitting as several the previous mqs, it feels more like of a "setting the stage" mq so I don't mind it. The Psyche mq, Chapter Twilight, and Charon Hunt are like "setting the theme" to me in a smaller scale, while Huaxu mq is more like "showcasing the potential arc in a confined area"

Several commentaries I am too tired to subtitle in video or YT captions:

Thorns2 and Mizuki are forced picks, this niche doesn't have anyone else with AOE damage in a fuckoff large area or AOE damage + dodge combo. Thorns and Eben are there since they have long enough attack range to evade the Zone of Death while dishing out Enough™️ damage

Mizuki is on S3 modY rather my usual go-to of S2 modX because 1) he needs the extra range to help stall the shieldguards on bottom lane because Eben simply cannot deal enough damage due to their abhorrent amount of res, and 2) while -mvspd is nice, I need him to deal more damage and dodge more often (this clear is already subject to some RNG, I don't want to grind RNG.)

Pot5 Thorns2 is more optimal since more S2 uptime is good but well. I don't have pot5 Thorns2.

Eben is on modY rather than delta since by the shieldguard wave he cannot at all trigger necrosis + his 2nd talent is no longer firing. But who cares about all that when in 6 months time Vij will join this niche and replace him in this scenario. I am mad about this.

Anyways, all these to say while SS/CCM is theoretically possible in 6 months, it is absolutely dogshit to attempt so I Won't (we don't talk about SS lvl 2.)
