I haven't been neglecting this blog at all. In unrelated news, please enjoy my emergency quadruple post.
Reach for the Sky, Donāt Trip.
Orcas, sort of.
Reach out and capture the wind
Iām a mess, but itās okay because Iām a gay mess.
(Who paints on her hands)
wash away the dust of yesterday
8.5x13.5cm, multi-medium on paper, a thank you card for a fantastic teacher of mine. The writing is the farewell soliloquy from The Tempest, which I thought was appropriate.
I have a friend that does incredible drag makeup - I got inspired. Apologies for the grainy picture quality, but it turns out faces are much harder to light at two in the morning than hands.
Eyeshadow and Acrylic paint ON MY FACE. (Yes, Iām proud of myself, why do you ask?)
Acrylic and Gel Pen on my hands.Ā
Ā Oh, man, these took forever. Two hands, two sides, two colour schemes, two different designs. Then I realised I had no way to take a photo of them together, and had to wear them for an hour until I could convince my mother that, yes, Iām crazy but could you please take some photos for me anyway?
Ā Iām not ambidextrous, just patient.
I just realised that I did not use a single spiral this time. I guess somewhere a mule has foaled.
A birthday gift for @theclassicgaymer. We share a deep love of everything written by Drew Hayes, so I made her some fan art based on the gear of our favorite lady barbarian!
Acrylic, Gel Pen and Eyeshadow on my hand.
This has been on for around three hours now - Iām very impressed with how well it has stayed. Saying that, everything I own is now covered in silver eyeshadow dust.
Trusty old Acrylic and Gel Pen on my long-suffering hand. I was listening to Grace Petrie's music (look her up, she's amazing) as I painted and this happened.
Watercolour, Acrylic and Gel Pen on Skin. I was ready to have a nebulous hand for a day or so, but there was surprisingly little staining.
The writing, for anyone interested, reads:
Had I but all of them, thee and thy treasures, What a wild crowd of invisible pleasures! To carry pure death in an earring, a casket, A signet, a fan-mount, a filigree basket!
-Extract from āThe Laboratoryā by Robert Browning
A Monstrous Nightmare that appeared on my hand at about 12:30 last night. Acrylic and gel pen on skin, as usual.
25x30cm, acrylic on canvas. Inspired by Erin Morganstern's 'The Night Circus', a repaint of an earlier piece.
