one thing about hanson that not many people appreciate enough is his confidence to get a conversation started. his friends back in la have even praised him for his bravery with being able to hold conversations with everyone. sure, there are some people that even hanson himself would be too scared of approaching. that's just life is! but even then, the crazy part of him would be willing to take on a challenge. after all, he saw any opportunity of growing his social circle as an adventure that he needed to try at least once!
so naturally... he's taken the opportunity to socializing with lina as a challenge that he was willing to take, especially because he remembers there being horror stories about her back during his trainee days. he of course figured that such stories were a bit ridiculous, but he did need to prove his point. he won't deny that her aura did make her come off as very intimidating... but he was still willing to take the risk!
years later... and he thinks he's more of an annoying little brother figure instead of some kid who just wanted to start a conversation with her. so there's some growth there!
now that he's a debuted idol, he feels like he has more of a pass in communicating and annoying lina now. an adorable relationship between a cold looking sunbae and a friendly-looking hoobae! it only makes perfect sense! as he walks down the halls of the dsn entertainment building, he didn't think that he'd see her soon. so when he spots her familiar face down the hallway, he immediately smiles and rushes to follow after her.
"lina noona!" he chirps. "longtime no see! i feel like i rarely see you around anymore! you're not busy, are you?" he then lets out a little laugh. "i'm sure they won't mind if i take up some of your time. everyone in the building loves me anyways! they'll let it pass!"
that was most definitely more of an assumption... but it wasn't one that was going to hurt anybody!

though he is the youngest member of the group, there are times where he feels a bit... hesitant to reach out to his members. it's not often, of course. nowadays, he feels confident enough to be able to talk to them about anything, especially after the years of being together. but there are times where he feels... embarrassed to go to them...
songwriting... and, in general, the process of making a song, is one of them.
the main reason is because he himself wants to be able to prove himself to the members as someone capable, but in a way that it feels like a surprise to them. sure, it might not make much sense, but it makes sense to him in some sort of way. they'll be able to see another side of him that is more mature... and they'll see him as dependable... but if they see the process of him become that way... he already knows that they're still going to see him as a baby.
for once... he doesn't want to be a child in their eyes. but an equal.
so while he sits at his desk in his dorm, frustrated by the lack of lyrics on his notebook for even one song that can have his full writing credit... he thinks of one person in particular. a senior of his that he happened to run into by chance during their joint promotion period in late 2023. he's been trying to keep in contact with wooju as much as he could. he thinks the last time they had a bit of a lengthier convo was when he was still mcing at inkigayo. every other interaction between the two of them has been through text conversation or through call... so surely... surely... wooju-sunbae wouldn't mind if he called for some advice.
before taking a second to think it over, hanson immediately taps on his phone screen to get the other into a facetime call with him. he waits patiently for the other to pick up, his smile growing wide as soon as he sees the other.
"galaxy-hyung-sunbae!" he says cheerfully, not at all minding how much of that was a mouthful for him. "how've you been, huuhh??? been prepping for hiraeth stuff... i hope?" he's trying to think of a way to easily transition into the conversation about this... while making it seem natural.

๐ lynk con exhibition's autograph wall!
if he had to be honest, he was pretty stoked for riiot's future schedule and that wasn't just because of kcon la and also preparations for their comeback, but also with lynk con here in korea! besides interactions with the riiders and performing with his members, he was excited to interact with other idols! especially if it came to idols who he wanted to know more about.
he does have to run some quick little errands before the day of the con, however. though it wasn't as boring as he thought it'd be! he was having fun just exploring and looking around the exhibition with a camera following him. internally, he thinks it's a bit funny that he has to speak his thoughts aloud as he walks by. he wonders what kind of view the fans would get when they open this up on the lynk app. he's glad he was styled for this, though he was never really insecure of his own fashion style to begin with. he just knew that his stylists knew how to make him look like good eye candy for content.
when being told they were approaching the end of the schedule and that all he needed to do now was just sign on the autograph wall, he smiles and bows politely at the staff for being so patient and accomadating. he's a bit relieved that after this, he can go back to the dorm and.... probably play some video games before preparing for the big day starting tomorrow!!!
he takes one more look at the memory wall, eyes searching for three groups: rush, riiot, and wonder. when his eyes spot the seniors that inspired him to audition for dsn, he feels a sense of pride bloom in his chest from how far he's gotten. perhaps, in the future, he'll be able to cover a song from them with his members onstage. when he spots their debut picture, he can't help but chuckle to himself at the sight. they looked so... young at the time. and he's sure that the older he gets, he'll look at photos of him at twenty-one and feel the same sentiment. when he finds the picture of wonder, he looks at each of the members who smile so brightly... his eyes lingering on one smile in particular...
he gets out of his thoughts when called out by the staff, to which he rushes over to the other side where the autograph wall is. he lets out a silent "whoaaa" at all the signatures that are on the walls already before he mentally tells himself to lock in. the quicker he gets through this, the more time he has to spend on his nintendo switch!
he grabs a permanent marker that the exhibit staff were offering to the other idols who were here today and looks around to try and find a blank spot on the wall... when his eyes land on a familiar head shape. yes, not hair color... head shape. and as he's compelled to shout out a "hey, gyu-hyung!" out loud to him, he notices that the other was holding a notebook while in front of the wall. it confuses him, at first... but then... when he gets closer, he can't help but smile in amusement.
"...hyung, are you practicing your handwriting??? in front of the autograph wall??"
hi persona! happy soft opening day~ i'm freesia ( they/them, est, 21+ ) and i write for yamada siegfried hanson.... or hanson for short! he's the maknae, main vocal, rapper, and resident goofster of riiot. past his silliness, he's actually a very hardworking idol who is kind and very social! underneath the cut is all the info you need to know about the troublemaker, as well as some wanted connections! if you smash that heart button, i'll be sure to send you an im to get more plotting going! :D so excited to be writing with you all!
bio tl;dr (tw: slight mention of racism/xenophobia)
socal baby who is the youngest of his family of three (oldest brother, older sister).
grew up knewing he wanted to become a performer, especially because he started taking an interest in kpop (i'd assume it's because of his siblings).
to get him jumpstarted on becoming a star, his parents had him get vocal training and he partook in chorus and theatre (both school and community).
he got into dsn via a global audition at the age of thirteen (early 2019) !!! WAHOO!
however, bc he's so young and as a kid experiencing puberty, he learns while he's at dsn that he... feels severely unqualified compared to his fellow label mates. (cue inferiority complex)
as a result, he overworked himself to try and improve and catch up to the other trainees.
it all worked out for him though!! after so much hard work, giving away his high school years to becoming an idol, he finally debuts in the year of 2022 as the youngest member of riiot, known for his vocal talent.
however, not all is rainbows and butterflies for him. because of his ethnicity as being white-asian, he's faced discrimination from ignorant netizens. and because of his very personality, he worries for the comments about how riiot gets attention because of his moments of virality and not because of their talent.
nonetheless, he tries his best to stay true to himself... that's what he can really do in an industry like this!
personality
very similar to irl maki (and gehlee from unis my daughter) with a few tweaks. very familiar with internet culture, but still does practice media training. he sometimes gets close to crossing the line, but he doesn't get too out-of-pocket.
as such, he's also quite the variety king on shows... well... when the entirety of riiot are invited to shows.
i also sought inspiration from hanson/mustang & anis from nikke (iykyk), tsukasa (prsk), and pinkie pie (mlp)... probably more there... i'll get back to this intro if there is.
speaks four languages! he is fluent in english and japanese and almost sounds fluent in korean. he also knows german because of his father. #wasian #05
despite coming off as a jokester/class clown, he's actually got a very sensitive heart! he's still a baby after all! there are times where you wonder if he's genuinely joking around or if he's poking jabs at himself when he makes self-deprecating jokes. the type to laugh and be like "nah" when you ask if he's okay and you have to clarify that you're being serious so that way he can take the answer seriously.
always seen on social media, whether it be on twitter or tiktok. some wonder if he's got a secret stan account.... but who is to say... either way, he's lurking...
wants to produce his own music one day! he wants to be able to be responsible for riiot's music in the future. his goal atm is to write lyrics for a title track!
despite his history as a theatre kid, he does not want to be an actor by all means! he wants to be recognized for his stage performance!!!! he'll have to be bribed for a musical actor gig.
in general, very gen-z coded! can and will teach his seniors who are out-of-touch with meme culture (both domestic and international, but esp international) about what goes on.
