“A lot of my early experiences did involve discrimination, did involve violence. My first, you know, adult relationship with a woman, we both were much more androgynous, I was attacked on the street, I had to move out of an apartment because I was being discriminated against by the people in the building. I never talked about those things with people, I never talked about it in the public. I just accepted that I was, I sort of expected, I accepted that that was what you, like, what happened to you when you were gay and when you looked more masculine, and I felt ashamed and I didn’t want to talk about it.”

“I was introduced on stage by an amazing comedian, Cameron Esposito, and Cameron kept referring - there was like an introduction and a video that played beforehand that summed up Sara and I’s career, in about a minute long clip, and then I came up, I was going to come out on stage, and Cameron kept talking about how like what an influence “we” had had on her when she was coming out and growing up and whatever, “and I always looked up to “them”“and "I thought "they” were so awesome” and, you know, all this other stuff, and then she was like, “And now Tegan, from Tegan and Sara!” And I came out on stage and I spoke and afterwards I got this voicemail from my mom and she was like “Are you identifying as “Them” now? Like are you, did you change your pronouns?“ And I was like what the fuck are you talking about? Cause I was like, "what do you mean mom?” And she was like “I’m just saying, like, you know, that’s, I mean obviously like I love you” - We have a trans step-sibling, you know, so we’re like a very like LGBTQ friendly family. She was like “I just, I mean, I didn’t, I don’t understand.” And I called her and I was like, what is this message, what are you talking about “am I identifying, have I changed my pronouns?” She said, “Oh, Cameron kept talking about you as ”‘them’ and ‘they’“ and I’m like "Sara mom! Me and Sara! She was talking about our band!””

something we agreed we like about uncle vernon is that despite like, personally suffering at the hands of wizards pretty significantly (dudley’s tail, marge), vernon is like, always ready to fuck with wizards? like he is SO SCARED of them but he’s always ready to fight? please take this moment to imagine uncle vernon meeting voldemort
*scoffs* ‘“Dark Lord” huh??? that just sounds to me like another way of saying you don’t have a REAL JOB.’
