Yeoljeongdo on a rainy night.
A short walk from Yongsan’s Namyeong Station, Yeoljeongdo is an old printing district where young entrepreneurs have converted many of the factory spaces into restaurants, cafes and bars.

I'm always fascinated by Cyberpunk mood, lights and colours. The concept was to create something not too much distance from our world, with skyscrapers, lights, people and car. Something immersive, that can give the sense of humidity and loneliness. I took inspiration from cities like Tokyo, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and of course by Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell. The first Sketch was made inside 3D-Coat, into a sphere for establishing the shape of the skyscrapers and of the bridge. Then opened in Photoshop and used the Panoramic Sphere, to paint over the sketch and use photos to create textures. In the end, I converted the image into a 20" video and uploaded it on Youtube for a VR viewing, for enjoying the new world in first person :) This is a project that I made for the Digital Design Days Awards.
