Job update ☁️:

So I originally posted on my story about applying to EPIK, but in the end I decided it wasn’t the right fit for me housing wise 😬 so I started to look into other options !

I decided to contact a load of recruiters whilst I waited for my application result to come back (I still haven’t heard anything) and since I showed interest quite early, I didn’t actually expect much - BUT! I ended up weeding through some offers and eventually agreed to interview with one that I’d liked the sound of.

I did some v important deep diving the night before my interview, and I found nothing but positive comments! - especially from the parents who send their children to the school - and it really gave me such good vibes!! (I also found their Instagram and it was v cute 🤭 lmaoo)

Fast forward to the interview, and it was so nice !! The people I spoke to felt warm, and I could tell that our teaching philosophies matched well. On top of that, the work life and curriculum style seemed really good (I’m excited to do a cooking class lmaoo) and I was also able to speak to an English teacher that’s currently working there, and it was really helpful to hear her experiences and insight into things !

After the interview, I exchanged a few texts with the school director, which made everything feel even more friendly ☺️ and not long later, I got a message from my recruiter letting me know that I’d been offered the job!

When the contract had been sent over, my boyfriend and I both read through it (since it was written in English and Korean) and after a couple amendments were made, I decided to sign !!

My start date is September 1st, but I’m looking to head over there in mid-August so I can settle in ! The school also provides me with 5 days of paid training - which is RARE - so it’ll feel good going into the job feeling prepared !

I’m soo excited (and a little nervous lmao) for the next chapter of my life !! Especially since it’ll be taking place in the city of bread 🤭🍞🥖🥐🥯🥨!

지금 보조교사인데 월요일, 화요일에도 초등교원양성 면접이 있어요 😳 ㄷㄷㄷ 성공하면 2024년 9월부터 1년동안 잘 공부하고 근처 초등학교에서 열심히 일을 할거여서 2025년 여름에 졸업하고 찐 선생님이 될수있을 거예요 📚🍎! 으앜 🫣!! 응원해주세요 ⭐️!!!

I’m working as a teaching assistant right now but on Monday and Tuesday I have a primary school teacher training interview 😳!! 💗 도넛 먹은 데이트 💗

이 브라이튼에 있는 카페를 자주 지나다녔지만 최근까지 아무것도 사지 않았어요 🙈 항상 도넛이 크고 맛있어 보이는 거 같아서 드디어 먹어봤어요! 시나몬 프레첼같은 맛이었어요! 다음엔 베리 시나몬롤 먹어보고 싶어요 😋 ㅎㅎ

I’ve walk past this cafe in Brighton so many times but I never bought anything until now 🙈 I always thought the doughnuts looked big and tasty so I finally tried one! It tasted like a cinnamon pretzel! Next time I want to try the berry cinnamon roll 😋 hehe

남친이랑 두번째로 호떡 만들었어요! 이번에 아이스크림이랑 먹었는데 호떡이랑 바닐라 아이스크림 짱 맛있다는 걸 알아내요 😋! 꼭 먹어봐요!!

오늘 삼촌과 배터시 파워스테이션 쇼핑몰에 갔어요! 점심을 먹으러 고든 램지의 레스토랑에 같이 가서 엄청 맛있는 오리 샐러드 먹었어요! 쇼핑몰에서 파바도 봤어요!! 한국이에요?? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 쇼핑후에 복스홀에 가서 삼촌은 저에게 맛있어 보이는 도넛을 사줬어요 😋 근데..사실..도넛이 좀 맛없었어요 ㅠ 왜냐하면 그 크림은 충분히 달지 않았기 때문이에요 😔 그래도 좋은 날씨를 즐기며 좋은 하루 보냈어요~🌞😌!

I went to the Battersea Power Station shopping centre with my uncle today! For lunch we went to Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant and I ate a reallyyy good duck salad! I also saw a Paris Baguette! Am I in Korea?? Lmaoo

After shopping we went to Vauxhall and my uncle bought me a tasty looking doughnut 😋 but..actually..the doughnut didn’t taste good 😭 it’s because the cream wasn’t sweet enough 😔 I had a nice day enjoying the good weather thoughh 🌞😌!
