“Ha? Nag-unsa man ka dira?”, “Nganong Basilan man gyod?”, “Wala bay gyera didto ron?”, “Mga Muslim naman na dira diba?”, “Delikado man didto.” ⠀⠀ I never really thought that Basilan, the place which is ever famous for chaos & madness would be this beautiful. I admit, I used to believe that the daily lives of people here only consists about bombings, kidnappings & gyera. But no. The people their also love Jollibee, attend Catholic processions, do business, take selfies & practice their faith like most of us. ⠀⠀ Why Basilan? Why go there? Apart from not being too crowded with tourists. It’s the thrill of seeing the truth & being able to feed your curiousity. I always thought that every place is equally beautiful. But no. Being there opened my eyes to the beauty that was hidden behind what we’ve seen on TV. Even if I only strolled one of its key cities for a short span of time. The serene beauty of this place is truly incomparable. Basilan does not boast. The place itself is confident enough to prove everyone wrong. You just have to see & experience it for yourself. ⠀⠀ I know I still have plenty of places to go & culture to experience in our country. But for now, I’d say that Basilan is the most beautiful place that I’ve ever been for 23 years. ⠀⠀ Also happened to read that Sulu & Tawi-tawi are equally beautiful. Maybe, soon. Hopefully! Will not give my mama a reason to have hypertension. #PilipinasKo🇵🇭 #itsmorefuninthephilippines (at Malamawi Island, Basilan) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxG1Bl0B7FD/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=bguwdhakpd5m
