this was my first time actually doing any sort of illustration on Illustrator. I had played around with the blend tool and how to make 3D but i hadn’t made a drawn illustration before and honestly im so proud of myself

process of finally printing the fronts of my cards. took a few hours to complete all the cards, had to play around with the colours, see what worked best together because finally printing onto my cards.

they look pretty good so far, i cant wait to ink them up with black pen and package them up.

A few of my interests

ice skating !

i love ice skating, i’ve been learning to figure skate since july 2021 and it’s been a very hard journey. lots of tumbling and falling over. lots of toe picks catching on my own foot. lots of skate sharpening and learning new steps and sequences. ice skating really helps me relax. although it’s known for its very extravagant programs and spins and amazing jumps, it’s an art for me. i could sit and watch ice skating for hours and it would motivate me so much.

my cat and nature are my inspirations. my cat is just the cutest thing ever and i use him for referencing a lot when doodling cats. i used him to draw out one of the animals in one my projects at college and used him as a model to take pictures of him for me to look at or even to draw if i’m feeling it.

the field of lavenders is another inspiration. it’s not just lavenders but more of the fact that it’s nature and it’s just so free and relaxing and it’s full of nature and mystery. you can find little bugs or even small flowers you’ve never seen before. i love to look at flowers and plants, i have a few of my own on my shelves and my desks and they inspire me to draw more nature.

my inspiration also comes from artists on instagram. i love looking at harry bhalerao. i love the characters he makes and i just want to make my own when i see his.

i love to look and watch studio ghibli films. i love the art and the animation and i think it’s such a cute concept, how can anyone not love studio ghibli!?

i like to watch movies and shows but it’s mainly the cartoons and animations that inspire me the most.

VISUAL COMMUNICATION

when i think visual communication i think of well planned work. no limitations to any materials or techniques. plans and ideas just spilling out. i also think of sequences for example, how did they sequence it? is it from top to bottom or zigzagging down the page?

i chose this piece of work because it’s well planned out, it shows the cloud above the head, small flower looking worried at the character. people would feel a sense that he’s been standing there for a while because there’s a puddle. he’s having a bad day because of the rainy cloud above just his head and nowhere else.
