Summer Colors: The Best Of
Since getting back to Dallas a week ago, I've enjoyed a self-inflicted 9 to 5 work schedule spent solely on editing, categorizing and organizing the 8,000 or so pictures I took in the last 32 days on the road.
Looking through them all, I recalled a realization Katelyn and I came to on the way to Sedona, AZ.
Before the trip began, I hadmade this pseudo tour poster:
When I made it, I just thought the words just sounded cool (my own version of the Tiesto album title, In Search of Sunrise). But as Katelyn and I drove back to Sedona, we realized: we actually did it. We toured the entire spectrum as we traveled west... in order.
It began with the old pink school house on the way to Colorado, to rust-red rock formations at Arches, to neon orange canyons at Bryce, to hazy yellow sunrises at Canyonlands, to mantis green riparian trees along the Virgin river at Zion, to deep forest green pines at Yosemite Valley, to the crystalline blue water at Tenaya Lake, to the deep cobalt blue Pacific in San Francisco, and the purple sand at Big Sur.
We looked at each other in disbelief and laughed for a solid minute. I never thought that the "whatever poster" I made would become a fulfilled prophesy. I'm still smiling about it.
