Is it too much to dream of being surprised with flowers (bisag santan ra pinulot sa dalan) and written love letters (bisag bati kag agi og bisag sa scratch paper ra nimo e sulat). Or perhaps I can buy my own jolly spaghetti and peach mango pie then we can binge eat together over skype 💔 You've never been the romantic type and you apologize saying it's because of the distance. But then my love there's so many non verbal way to shower your love despite the distance...if you really intend to do so. But then again you're not that type.

It's just so exciting and overwhelming at the same time how we're growing together. The distance no longer matter because we both have full understanding we're doing this for our future. Jeff would always remind me to stay strong. He wants a good life ahead for both of us. He does not believe in the saying "bahalg saging basta loving." I find it really sweet and I fall in love with him every single day. This is beyond what I dreamt of and for that I am thankful and extremely blessed 😊😊😊 Also, our families met already. Jeff came to visit with his dad last weekend and the way both our fathers call each other "kumpare" makes my heart melt ❤️

Hired.

So today I was called back in for the position of Recruitment Associate. At the same time, Jeff my love was also hired as an Aircraft Mechanic Helper. Hooray. Thank you Awesome God 😊😊😊❤️

Catharsis

By now I should be doing many things. My head should be filled with lots of ideas - how to make the world a better place, how to make my journal look fancy, my next checklist, etc - but it is not. A girl who lives for over flowing thoughts is now in a state of stagnation. When and how did this happen? All I remember is me taking a rest from all the unnecessary stress I put myself into and now I’m drowning into the eat sleep cycle...

This should stop. This is me reminding myself that I have gotten too far. And this is me giving myself a tap in the shoulder: “good job in spotting the red flag.”

When you are in a long distance relationship, it seems like there is no other person who can understand your situation. Except for known acquaintances who are also in the same page. You also have those times when you are being asked bothersome questions like, “How can you do that?” or “How long do you plan to stay in that kind of relationship?”

You know you don’t have to answer those questions because in your heart, you know that what you have is exceptional. There are also times when you cannot explain how you feel about your condition because sometimes, words cannot express it.

So for our family, friends and some overseers, if you try to ask us how we do it, or why we are still in this kind of relationship, here are our answers.

BECAUSE IT PROVES THAT OUR LOVE IS NOT JUST ABOUT PHYSICAL CONTENTMENT, IT’S DEEPER THAN THAT

We know very well that love starts with physical attraction. However, when you stayed in a relationship long enough, it will not just be about the looks, but about the character of the person. Love may consist of physical belongingness, but there is more to it than that. When we are away from our significant other, we know that we don’t just miss being with them physically, but we don’t have that security and relief when we know they are just within our reach.

Why do I want to cry

Typing. Not thinking. Just letting it be. I miss the feeling of having so much thoughts to the point of figurative explosion. I mean it’s better than sleeping day in and day out, listening to your boyfriend, watching New Girl without thinking about what you’re watching...it’s better than feeling unproductive and fat. What’s gotten into me. I used to live with so much conviction and self-induced purpose. Now it just feels like rock bottom. I used to beat myself up for being lazy and for all the reason I could find just to be something. I did not know yet what I’ll be but I recall pushing myself everyday to reach that self. And now I’m just letting it be. I let myself be fat and unproductive. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that bad. I just came home from a great great experience training teachers. Hell yeah! A 20 - year - old fresh grad (yes I was the youngest) was tasked to train experienced mobile teachers and even supervisors. Hey, I forgot to “good job pat” myself for that. And now I’m feeling better...ugh!

Depression is beautiful? Is not showering for a week because you can’t get out of bed cute? Is wearing the same clothes because you haven’t gotten around to laundry quirky? Is crying until you’re exhausted because you’ve lost all of your friends sound exciting? No. No. No. No. Depression is NOT cute. Depression is NOT quirky. Depression is NOT a “teen fad.” Depression is NOT some cutesy little idea that people decide to have. Depression brings you down, rips you apart & leaves you in pieces. It’s your job to rebuild yourself & the relationships you lost. Depression ruins your life, so no. Depression is not beautiful.
