Beloved Crypternity - Chapter 1
The cold crept out of the dust, bitter and consuming, creeping up the pure stone of the vault, punishing those foolish enough to lean on it and draw strength. The depths of the Necropolis were not only dark and deadly, they seemed to disappear into eternity. No one, not even the oldest creatures of the Mournwatch, had ever reached its bottom.
"And if someone did?" asked Rook, cautiously peering from an edge into the bottomless blackness.
"If so, that someone wouldn't have been able to return and tell the story," replied Emmrich.
"Or wouldn't have wanted to. Perhaps the mystery is reason enough for someone to linger there."
Emmrich snorted with undisguised amusement. "Dearest, I love that even in the face of a deadly precipice, you spontaneously lapse into philosophical discourse with me."
"Oh, really?" Rook looked up at the professor, who was almost a head taller than him, but the howling wind and the whipping grains of sand and dust prevented a more intimate moment. Blinking constantly and with a scratchy throat, it wasn't easy for him to work his charm. Rook sighed inwardly. How long had they been down here? Had it been days, or even weeks?
He longed for peace and quiet, wanted to finally get some proper sleep, take a bath... but neither these deprivations nor the constant hunger due to their limited supplies overshadowed his greatest desire: to finally lie in Emmrich's arms again. Or to slowly climb onto his lap, electrified by the knowledge of what would follow in the next moment.
Emmrich seemed to see that his thoughts had taken on a life of their own. "Dearest, where are your thoughts?"
A smug, "Here's to you, my darling, breathing heavily and wild," was on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn't bring himself to say it out loud. They were in an extremely dangerous situation; any inattention could be fatal. Many guards had already gone missing down here, too many.
"I'm sorry," he said instead, hanging his head. Emmrich responded with a frown and gently touched his chin to make him look into his eyes again. It was those mischievous blue eyes that had fascinated him endlessly, ever since the day they met.
"What do you mean, what are you sorry about?"
It took Rook a moment to find the right words. "I'm distracted, and that's putting us in danger. Because I can't be close to you, even though you're standing right in front of me." A tear almost appeared, but the howling wind wiped away any trace of it before it could flow down his cheek. He felt so stupid and naive, but it was only his passionate love for Emmrich Volkarin and his brutal exhaustion that made him so weak.
"It's true, we have to stay focused," Emmrich answered confidently and calmly. "But I understand you, darling. I feel the same way!"
"That's..." Before he could even begin a full answer in surprise, he saw Emmrich cast a protective spell. Supported by gesture and voice, he wove a small, invisible sanctuary around them that would protect them from harmful influences and stray evil spirits, albeit only for a very short time, because the professor also had to conserve his strength on this dangerous journey. Rook, as a necromancer, knew the incantation and resolved to continue to receive instruction from him.
Now and here, however... barely had the last sonorous syllable of magic sounded when Emmrich grabbed him and kissed him passionately, as one might have expected from a young daredevil rather than a man over fifty. But here, etiquette and decency couldn't buy him anything; all that mattered was how Rook tasted as his tongue played around his. How his sweet, plump ass felt in his hands. The hard pressing just below the belt, merely trapped in superfluous fabric and leather. How the excited gasp felt on his cheek as they wildly gasped for breath before the next passionate kiss. It was a fully clothed union of two lovers, just for a sweet second. It was a promise of more.
Rook had fallen into a delirium of bliss, the tumble softening his posture in Emmrich's embrace. As if he could simply flow completely into him, so close, even closer. He didn't even know what he was doing anymore, how he pressed himself against him in an almost uncoordinated manner. Like a ghost that wanted to enter him. This urge was overwhelming, and ironically, it was his erection that prevented him from pressing further against Emmrich's hip bone. But the friction did its part to maintain the rush.
Even through his clothing, he felt as if he could feel Emmrich's emotions with his own skin. They were tightly entwined and moved in unison. A demon of lust would have been proud of them at that moment. Rook was already trembling from the feeling of rising tension in his pelvis.
"It'll be over soon," Emmrich sighed throatily, biting his lip.
"Not quite," Rook gasped, digging his fingertips into his back. "Oh please... soon..."
"No, I mean, the protective spell is ending!"
The magical shell dissipated with an uncharacteristic hiss and discharged with a threatening sound directly into the ground on which they stood. Rook and Emmrich, however, clung to each other like a perfectly fitting two-piece puzzle. Unlike the spell, however, they hadn't yet discharged, and when the dark spirits that had lurked beyond the sanctuary tried to pounce on them, Rook ripped them apart instantly with a magical curse, which he hurled at them while cursing loudly. Emmrich marveled, perplexed by the efficiency that the frustration of the almost-so-close climax seemed to bring. Even at his age, he was still learning. However, this insight was of little use to impart to his students. His thoughts were in chaos; he felt like Rook, who had just turned to him, panting, after cursing the spirits into the abyss. Emmrich's body glowed like a volcano; he noticed the distinctive scent of heated grave gold rising from his arms. He felt like pushing Rook over the nearest ledge and shamelessly taking him from behind. This time for real, without clothes, without decorum, raw and uninhibited, holding him with one hand around his narrow elven waist and the other under the tangled red hair at the nape of his neck. Until he finally filled him and then, with a satisfied pat, demanded that he hold still for a moment so he could contemplate his work in peace.
"Damn it!" Rook's voice drowned out the constant howling from the abyss. He stomped toward him and practically fell into his arms. Emmrich looked down at him soothingly, as best he could in his own agitated state. He gently brushed a strand of hair from his face and at the same time admired Rook's incredibly pretty lips, still swollen from their wild kisses. "Is our expedition failing because we can't keep our hands off each other?" Emmrich chuckled.
Rook took a deep breath and finally grinned, shaking his head. "Let's postpone the glorious exploration of the Necropolis's abyss for a little while longer. Let's turn back."
Emmrich nodded and sighed. "Agreed. But how are we supposed to explain this to Myrna and Vorgoth?"
Rook blushed immediately. "Tell them the truth."
"That we're currently sloppily fulfilling our vows because, regardless of the surroundings, we're inextricably stuck together like two pancakes with syrup?"
Rook laughed and kissed him deeply once more before it was time to leave. "Either that or simply that I love you."
"I love you too, my darling!"
