Unbearably cute video shows twin babies enjoying a new bathing technique which mimics life in the womb

  An adorable video showing newborn twins clinging to each other as they take a bath has gone viral online - clocking up almost 6 million views in a week.

In the video, the newborns appear to be hugging as maternity nurse Sonia Rochel, gives them a bath together, using a technique that mimics life in the womb.

The technique, called the Thalasso Baby Bath, was invented by Rochel, and involves gently running water on the babies faces.

The twins in the video, a brother and sister, were just a few days old when they had their bath.

Rochel, a 51-year-old maternity nurse from Paris, came up with the idea for the bathing technique when she was in the shower and realised it felt good to spash water on her face.

She tried the technique on newborns and noticed it made them move in a similar way to how they do in the womb.

Rochel says the technique should only be used on babies younger than two months, and that parents should not try it at home.

Bat Kid Cancer Patient Will Make Your Cold Black Heart Grow 3 Sizes

Huge crowds gathered in San Francisco today to cheer on Bat Kid, aka Miles, a 5-year-old who is battling cancer, saving Gotham City, and making it rain all over the entire internet's face. Don't believe me? Try to get through all these pictures of the pint-sized crime fighter without breaking down a tiny bit. I'm not crying — you're crying! ALL OF YOU ARE CRYING.

Miles has been battling cancer since he before his second birthday, according to the Los AngelesTimes. But what he really wanted to do is normal 5-year-old kid stuff. Uh, like be Batman. And so the Make-A-Wish foundation, along with the entire city of San Francisco came together to transform the place into Gotham City. More from the LAT,

...the effort will include Miles' own Batmobile, a personal call from Police Chief Greg Suhr for help, the apprehension of the Riddler and then a flash mob involving hundreds of people in Union Square alerting Batkid to the fact that Penguin has kidnapped Lou Seal, the San Francisco Giants mascot.

Batkid will then chase the Penguin around AT&T Park, rescuing Lou Seal and earning a key to the city during a presentation at City Hall.

All of these exploits were kicked off by a live television news bulletin carried byKGO-TV and covered in the "Gotham City Chronicle," 1,000 copies of which were printed by the San Francisco Chronicle on Friday, the top A1 story penned by — who else? — Clark Kent.

Heart not warmed yet? I'm about to fucking microwave it.

Not only did thousands of people come out with signs, but the internet was all over this. Tweets about Bat Kid were being shared all over the place. The hashtag #SFBatkid almost made my Tweetdeck explode. The whole world was cheering for this little guy.

Oh my god you guys I'm a helpless puddle of strange loving feelings toward humanity. New York City residents, if you get hugged by an unhinged nondescript brunette while walking home from work today, that's me.

Thank you, Bat Kid. And thank you, San Francisco. Erm, Gotham.

Man Makes A Life Vest For Pet Fish Who Can’t Swim

A 32 year old man, from Blackpool, UK named Leighton Naylor has made a lifejacket for his pet fish named Einstein. Einstein was a healthy fish who had been learning to do tricks when he was struck with the illness that affected his swim bladder, making it impossible for him to swim anymore.

Einstein would turn upside down and sink to the bottom of his tank. Naylor said, “Then he sank to the bottom, stuck on his side, and couldn’t go any further. He just looked depressed, the poor fish. I was heartbroken. I thought I’m going to have to do something about this.”

Naylor used some recycled tubing to create a buoyancy aid. This little device made it possible for little Einstein to swim around the tank instead of sinking to the bottom.

Naylor said, “People have said I’m crazy but every animal is a valued family member… I’ve tried to train all of my fish but Einstein’s my star pupil. He can swim through my fingers and he was getting into fish football when he fell sick.”

What a beautiful story!

The Case for Giving Poor People Handouts With No Strings Attached

Morocco is one of the more developed countries in Africa, but only about half — 56 percent — of its population can read. Most schools there lack electricity, and many don’t even have toilets. Most children living in the country’s rural areas start primary school, but about 40 percent drop out before finishing six years of primary education. The rudimentary education system makes its mark in the country’s test scores: It’s ranked 59 out of 69 countries in math and 64 out of 70 on science.

To nudge families to keep their children in school, researchers recently experimented with giving parents in the country’s poorest districts small grants of between $8 and $10 per child each month. Some of them were told they’d only get paid if their child attended school regularly, but the others were simply handed money, told nothing, and sent on their way.

Surprisingly, the researchers found that giving out money without any preconditions was more effective than asking families to do something in exchange for their bounty.

"To the extent that conditionality had any impact, it was a negative one," they concluded.
