Durton’s Hostage Situation Resolved

I won’t go into too much detail here because I’m sure you guys have all seen the news reports. I just wanted to drop this and say that this was a big win- nobody got hurt, and everyone got home safely. I’m limited in what I can tell you guys unfortunately, but let’s just say that we learned some valuable information that will, fingers crossed, help us bring down some seriously nasty bad guys in the near future. 

Oh, and everybody please show lots of love to the amazing teachers and students of Durton’s! They handled this awful situation with absolutely humbling courage and grace, and deserve all the praise in the world.

Q&A 2

I’ve got some spare time while the rest of the team run an away mission, so I figured I’d do another Q&A since I’m stuck here. It was fun last time! I’m gonna run down this list of questions sent in by @harbrookxAnglex- shoutout!

Where did you grow up?

Harbrook, mostly. I guess I lived somewhere else when I was really, really young but I can’t really get into that without compromising my secret identity.

How tall are you? 

6 foot, pretty much dead on.

What is your favorite drink?

Hm. I know I really should say water, but honestly it would probably have to be some sort of fruit juice. There’s just so much to taste going on there!

What is your spirit animal and why?

Oh, tough one. I’m not sure. A chameleon, maybe? But I can fly, so like a chameleon with wings. Is there a chameleon bird?

How would you describe your fashion sense?

I like to look good, but not overdress or look like I’ve spent half an hour in front of the mirror (even though I might have!). Putting effort into effortlessness, you know?

What was your dream job as a kid?

This! Not that being a superhero is a job, but it’s what every kid dreams of doing right? I hope it is anyway. If not for my powers though, I would have loved to be a scientist. I’ve been very fortunate to have the chance to be a superhero, and I love doing it, but I think I could have made a real difference in the world through research and development too. You don’t have to wear a cape to be a hero!

Look at this gym I found online! That’s the dream. One day. Currently I’m working out in a windowless underground room with weights I bought at Sports Direct. I don’t suppose any of you guys happen to be related to a superhero personal trainer?

Martins bust

Yesterday, the team led a successful raid on a farm just outside Harbrook which was being used by the Martins’ crime family as a centre of illegal operations. Multiple wanted criminals have been taken into police custody. 

Feels good for this one to go off successfully, it’s a pretty big win.

Flew (fell) up above that big storm yesterday and took this. First time trying this, was pretty crazy. Didn’t expect it to be so quiet up there.

What superpowers do you have? We’ve all seen the shield, but you can fly too??

Well, apart from the shield, I can mess with gravity’s effect on me a bit. I don’t want to get into too much detail here, sorry, because who knows if villains are reading this, right? You’ve probably seen me using it to fall up though, which lets me sort-of-but-not-really fly and get those cool aerial shots I’ve been posting. I’m also stronger, faster and tougher than your average human. My personal best bench is 1400kg right now, but I’m hoping to break 2000 by this time next year! #fitnessgoals

More seriously, not sure. They just kicked in one day. Random mutation, maybe? I’m not a scientist.

No, it was made for me by someone much better at that sort of thing than I am. I don’t think I can really say more without giving away stuff I shouldn’t, sorry.

whats it like working with plan b? are they as tragic as they seem?

I’m guessing you mean Seraph and Gauss rather than Nomad or Brain Boy here. It’s... interesting. I’ve watched a lot of what these guys have got up to over the last few years. Saw some of it first hand. I’ve seen them make a lot of mistakes, and I’m sure you guys have too. That said, Plan B’s changed a lot. There’s more of us newbies than the old guard. It’s early days, but it feels like this team is doing better than it used to. My hope is that I can keep us grounded, make sure we stay focused on what’s important- the normal people who sometimes end up suffering when Plan B gets caught up in building-destroying fights with supervillains.

Prison break

Unfortunately I can’t tell you guys all that much about the New Birmingham prison breach as it’s a developing case, but I can share the basics. A super-villain on the outside of the prison gained access to the facility’s network and took control of key systems. Plan B managed to regain control of the compromised facilities and contain the entirety of the general population until BSU reinforcements arrived to relieve us. 

At that point, as I’m sure you’re aware, the villain ‘Diamond’ used her abilities on a previously unseen scale to teleport the prisoners away from the facility. We are hard at work tracking them down and will do our absolute best to get them back behind bars as soon as possible. If you see something, please let me know.

Security breach at New Birmingham Prison

Just got word of a possible security breach at New Birmingham prison. We’re looking into it. No details yet, but if you live in the area please stay inside and be vigilant.

Out on the town

A few of you guys have been asking me to talk about our run in with the Abnormals the other day so I figured I’d just make a post about it! 

It was our first mission as a team, and we’d really only just come together. We were all a bit tense I think; the Abnormals were holding hostages inside GreenWorld, so the stakes were pretty high. Everyone came together perfectly though. Brain Boy located an entry point through the air vents, and we slipped in. A quick bit of hacking later and he had us listening in to the bad guy’s comms. He diverted one of the baddies guarding the hostages with a fake distress call, which freed up me and Gauss to take down the other one with a quick combo move. We were in.

Turns out the Abnormal we took down could spread disease, and all the hostages had been taking the full brunt of her aura for a while, so they were sick as. We got them all out through the vents without too much of a problem though. 

We knew the head honchos were holding GreenWorld’s CEO in his office on the top level, so we headed back out to the roof and came up with a plan. I breached the window from the outside with my shield, Nomad ported in to protect the hostage, and me, Gauss and Seraph entered in the confusion. 

Brain Boy had whipped up some concoction to counteract the Abnormal’s auras, giving us the edge in the fight, but these guys were still tough customers. Biode was strong and quick, but he couldn’t get past my shield, so I kept him in check while the rest of the team dealt with his lackeys. After that, things fell into place. We got the hostage out safely and took the Abnormals down.

Unfortunately some of them did get away and are still at large, but we’re on top of it and the BSU are in the loop. I’ll keep you guys updated, and of course if you spot someone suspicious, you know who to contact!
