episode 7 spoilers/summary for people who can’t access the camrip eng sub version like me
major plot summary
the Japanese government (帝国化学, not sure if this is a government entity itself but a government official knew about this and let it happen) developed a virus that was meant to be sold to a french company for the purpose of executing a terrorist attack. it’s extremely deadly but the effects can be reversed within 24 hours. there are only very small quantities of the antidote available, enough for 18 people so basically Tokyo is screwed if the virus gets out.
the virus’ potency was tested on a small village in Japan that is somehow connected to the lady (Mitsuki), who wants to take revenge for that incident. she met Moriya through a photoshoot and told him about what happened. he empathized with her cause and agreed to help her carry out the plan. she got engaged to the chemist dude to get samples of the virus and offed him after she got the virus. she wants asshole government dude/Kirishima to publicly admit he knew about this virus and the testing that destroyed the village two years ago or else it will be released onto Tokyo.
Sherlock asks her if it’s really necessary to destroy Tokyo, to which Mitsuki gets irritated and tells her that she’s doing this in the name of justice, so stop being a busybody consultant detective and get arrested already. Sherlock just laughs and says that Mitsuki’s lies will be seen through right away, but then Mitsuki goes “oh really well I’m just gonna die”.
Mitsuki sets Sherlock up as the killer of the scientist dude with Moriya’s help. he was able to obtain Sherlock’s fingerprints for the gun when he visited with the therapist and planted the empty container originally holding samples of the virus in Sherlock’s church hideout by bringing Wato to the scene.
Moriya planned to carry out the terrorist attack at Tokyo Station somehow (not sure) and injected all of the virus into himself.
the video Sherlock watches at the end is a message form him to the therapist, thanking her for changing his life and letting him live to his fullest extent. he wishes for her to take care of Wato at “the dock”.
the therapist makes her way to the scene of the crime and asks Wato to go to a new world with her, presumably “the dock”.
minor details
Moriya and Wato are now dating, he gifts her a copy of his first photobook that is supposed to be released the week after. Wato notices that the shared home of the scientist/Mitsuki has the same book.
Shibata comments how whenever something bad happens, Sherlock always seems so lively about it and happy/high energy whenever she sees dead bodies.
Kento is literally the best big brother ever, really cares about Sherlock. helps out his “fugitive” sister by giving her an untraceable cellphone, punches the government dude fixated on saving face for himself and forcing Sherlock to end up killing a person.
