It was   STRANGE   being in a place that wasnât her home.
It had taken  everything for  Carrie to get out of the house
and be able to attend  the  university Mama had protested
till the end, FORCING Carrie to even take a bus instead of
driving her. But this was EVERYTHINGÂ to Carrie. No more
closet, no more fear. She was FREE.Â
Carrie made a promise to herself, that college would NOT be
like high school. She knew she could not endure another fourÂ
years of   PURE  HELL. This was her chance to stat over and
that was exactly what she was going to do.Â
Her roommate had been kind enough to  help her with theÂ
MINIMALÂ items sheâd brought from home. But the girl had
left  because  she worked.  Carrie was  finished with her
unpacking and was going to try and befriend her floor-mates.
She was halfway down the hallway when she stopped. It was
as if she could HEARÂ God laughing at her from above. A cruel
joke played on her once more. The blonde blinked a few times
praying this was a illusion. But, it wasnât.
Standing a few feet away from her, a familiar brunette that Carrie
had hoped   NEVER  to see again. The girl that was the cause of
most of Carrieâs pain in high school.Â
    CHRIS HARGENSEN Â
Carrie was about to turn around, return to her room and just wait
until later to show her face again, but then Chris turned, and their
eyes met. Green eye widened an Carrie FORCEDÂ herself not to
turn away. She would NOT be scared of her anymore.
To say Chris changed would be a complete and utter LIE. A lieÂ
muttered by her father far too often when he was bribing theÂ
school board to look past the expulsion mark on her track record.Â
&& despite it all, not enough of daddyâs discipline or ridiculousÂ
restraints could make her any less VOLATILE.
       However, this wasnât high school.
There was no Tina, or Nicky and Lizzy standing behind her conceitedly
cocking their brows whenever the brunette murmured a few disparaging
words to the nearest person. There was no Sue Snell beside her to be
somewhat of a moral guidance. It was just Chris. Chris Hargensen on a
campus surrounded around thousands of people, the majority of the peopleÂ
not knowing her name;Â not yet at least.
Fingers were clenched around a black strap, a pink purse falling from
it as she made her way down the hall. It was [Â strange ]. Not long ago
she was walking down a hall with the pleasure of watching people kiss
her ass, or scurry to get away from her. Sure the faux-loved was posed
out of fear but, it felt good. It was different than this. Â INVISIBILITY.
There was one foot following the other, deep breaths as she walked Â
through the crowded hall. && during that moment when Chris nearly
felt inferior, her eyes landed upon a familiar figure. Carrie-fucking-
White. A mix of emotions overwhelmed her: relief that there was a well-
known face, annoyance that she can never rid herself from the oh-so
wonderful Carrie White, or pure excitement that she mayâve found her
position in this college. Either way, with a head held high she wasted
no time approaching her.
ââ  â â Holy shit, Carrie White. I knew the smell of trifling PIGS was suddenly a lot stronger than usually. They give out scholarships to animals now? â
