#ALICENTHIGHTOWER - didn’t grow up in a normal world, now I’m just an adult girl

mental illness is really something because I thought I was having a baller start of the year and then a random OCD intrusive thought starting from a nightmare on a random wednesday sent me into a month long spiral and now I’m back on SSRI’s I haven’t been on since 2020 and trying to go to therapy more regularly despite that being costly. I took a 3 week break back home with my family and family pets just basically doing nothing but resting which has helped but yeah. I don’t know if I can keep doing this loop every few years and I wish I had a different brain

This week has been an absolute dream come true. I got to see an artist I’ve loved for 15 years in my home country with both old friends and new (some I made at the concert) in Sydney & Melbourne.

I was lucky enough to see her in 2019 in Dublin during L&F but sadly did not get GA nor did I get to be with my friends I grew up on her with or people just as crazy about her as I am. So this time was truly special 🥹🦋💎

Marina is finally touring Australia after 15 years, most of that time me spent in the absolute trenches begging her to that I still feel like this is a dream I might wake up from oh my goood. I was lucky enough to see her in Dublin in 2019 but it was not the same for several reasons (we didn’t get standing and the venue wouldn’t let us stand up in our seats boooo) and one main one is I wasn’t with my other friends who have grown up on Marina with me and now I am! Next up: The OA will come back cause 2026 is MY YEAR

can’t believe bestie and I saw Sam Reid in person last night !

the stars aligning so perfectly too as my friend is visiting from Sydney and he’s the biggest Lestat fan I know. we found out Sam was in Melbourne by pure chance when looking up cinemas that would be playing Nosferatu while he’s visiting and I saw ACMI have a cinema, looked at the website (they don’t play regular movies more like film festivals and Australian film premieres) and was like wAIT. So we hung around ACMI last night and it paid off 😂
