It was actually more someone ran into you. Quite literally. It was Adam and he had been legitimately running down the corridor.
“Uncle Adam. What is going on?” I asked in a sort of panic.
“I can’t be here, not with…” he paused and shuddered, “Lucifer here”
I understood. I asked him if he would want to find a place where we could find him in case we wanted to talk.
He though for a moment then nodded.
“Yeah, that would be good”
I told him I’d take him somewhere safe. I had him pack some stuff and tell everyonewhat was going on.
Adam seemed to be in a state of constant discomfort the whole time and he would not meet Sam’s eye when he said goodbye.
I flew us to my old apartment in Oregon. I knew that this would come in handy. I explained the situation to the manager. The manager was a vamp, but knew better than to mess with me or my place.
“If you need anything just call okay. I wish this wasn’t happening.” I told him.
He nodded.
“Thank you, Harmony.”
“No problem. I will do anything for family. That’s kind of a family flaw. Later.” I said.
I flew back to the bunker and went to the library. I kind of just wanted to be alone. But then again that never happens.
For a little while you were alone. After a little while I came into the room and sat down at the other table with a book.
I felt you walk in and ignored you. I really didn’t want to talk to anyone, not even Jack. Something was wrong with me and I didn’t know what to do about it. I was living a great life. Everything seemed peaceful, but I knew that wasn’t going to last long.
“Son of a bitch!” I yelled
I looked up at you quickly, immediately concerned.
“Harmony, what’s wrong?” I asked.
“Everything seems to be going great, but I know better than to believe that. With Lucifer back in our lives I’m getting close to just quitting and going full dark Harmony.” I said.
I frowned slightly at you then got up from my chair. I moved over to your table and sat down next to you.
“I would say that everything is going to be fine but you are likely to refute that given you are a Winchester.”
“Fuck off Castiel. I really just need to be on my own.” I said.
I flew away. I knew I was being childish again like when I first meet everyone, but I just cant help it. Being a Winchester means that I need to lose everything at least twice in my life. First it was Jess, i just dont want to be the reason the second thing happens.
I sighed heavily when you flew away and rubbed my eyes. I had to do something to resolve this situation.
Getting up from my chair, I headed to find Sarah.
Sarah was sitting in her room watching some interesting videos that Dean sent her a link to.
I knocked gently on her open door, just to be polite.
Freaking out, Sarah said just a second as she closed her laptop. She then opened the door to see you.
“Hey Cassie. What’s up?”
“Sarah, something needs to be done with Lucifer. His presence is disrupting life here.” I said
“Cas we can’t let him out into the world. He might try to take over the world or take Jack. We both know that Harmony would kill to keep Jack safe from his father.” She said.
“I’m not even slightly suggesting we let him free. He just needs to be gone from here and be somewhere where we can all forget about him.” I responded.
She agreed but made the comment that I have like to know where people are. She knew I would ask if they moved Lucifer because I need to have some control over where he is to protect this family.
I thought for a moment.
“Where do you think we might be able to keep him?” I asked.
Sarah could tell there was more that I wasn’t saying.
“Somewhere close by but not so close as to where we can tell he is near. Cas why did this come up?” She asked
I sighed.
“Harmony ran off. Adam is gone as well. And Jack won’t leave Harmony’s room because he can sense Lucifer everywhere in the bunker except there because she warded it.”
Sarah understood. She wasn’t sure where they could send him. But then an idea popped into her head.
“Is there any way to get into the Cage?” She asked.
I was slightly taken off guard by the suggestion.
“Maybe? We would have to ask Gabriel if he can. Even when I’m at full strength I can’t open it. That is, unless we find a way to get the key.”
She agreed and decided to head out and find Gabe.
He ended up being not at all hard to find as he was making quite the racket whist raiding the kitchen.
“Hey little Trickster. We got something to ask you.” Sarah said
“Shoot” Gabe said, not even looking up from his raiding.
“Can you open the cage in hell?” Srah asked bluntly
Gabe looks up suddenly at Sarah, shocked.
“Yes, why?” He asks, his tone cautious and worried.
“We want to put Luci in there for awhile. Harmony is freaking out. Adam left. Jack is in a constant state of worry.” Sarah explained
Gabe grinned.
“Why didn’t you just say so. I’ve been dying to get that idiot out of here since the moment he showed up. I’ll need your help opening the door though, Sarah. I may have the metaphorical key, but I don’t have the juice to pry open that rusty gate by my lonesome.”
She agreed, but thought they should get me to make sure I was there.
“I’ll see if I can persuade her.” Gabe said before flying off.
I was listening to music. The song was lost boy by ruth b. I feel like the song fits how I feel most of the time.
Gabe, rather sillily, knocked on the closest surface the moment he landed.
“What.” I said annoyed.
“I’ve come to collect you, kiddo. Cassie and Sarah want to put Luci in the Cage and I agreed to help. Sarah wants you to be there when we lock him up.”
I was surprised that they thought of that. I asked why. They were doing this.
“Because, just by existing, that asshole is screwing up the very foundations of our weird little family. I mean, you AND Adam ran off, and Jack is having what equates to an exstitential crisis from my understanding.”
Gabe had a point. I just want sure if the cage was a good idea. The cage was hell for him and Sam. I only know this because I would visit them sometimes. Lucifer had become a friend but i knew better than to trust him.
“Gabe, I’ll help, but we should put some wifi in the cage. I still want Jack to be able to message Lucifer.” I said
“No wifi because I can promise you it won’t work, but he will have cell reception.” Gabe said,, with a slight smirk.
I agreed with him and we got to work. Everything was going to, hopefully, be okay and we can all go back to our peaceful lives in this bunker.
Gabe split ring finding duties with you, purposefully tasking you with the “less” dangerous horsemen. Which basically meant Death and Pestilence while he went to go find War and Famine.
Pestilence wasn’t that difficult to deal with. Death was going to be a little more difficult because I knew she wasn’t going to like this.
“I never would have thought you would be looking for the rings. What’s going on?” She asked.
“Hi Billy. We are trying to throw Luci back in the Cage.” I explained.
“Hmm, figures. What did he do this time?” Billie asked.
“It’s Lucifer. He somehow returned to our world from the apocalypse world. We aren’t sure how. Do you mind if we borrowed your ring?” I asked her.
She shook her head with a slight, bemused smile.
“Old Luci needs to learn when it’s time to lay down and give up. Here, have it back before tomorrow. And for the record, I’m only doing this because I’m sick of Lucifer’s shit,” Billie said, removing the ring from her finger and holding it out to you.
I thanked her and sent Gabe a text letting him know I had my two rings.
‘Sweet beans’ he texted back ‘Meet me back @ the bunker and we can game plan w/ the boys ;)’
I flew back to the bunker and met up with Gabe. I smiled at my family when I saw them. Peace seemed near.
Gabe had assembled most everyone in the library. The only two not in attendance were Jack and Adam.
“So, now that everyone is here,” Sam pipped up, “are we seriously putting Lucifer BACK into the Cage, again?”
“Well, technically us wing-ed folk are, but essentially yes Sammy-boy.” Gabe said.
“Uncle Sammy this is the only way to deal with that asshole. I just want things to be normal again.” I said.
Sam just looked at us. He was worried about Gabe and Cas. I knew it was because Lucifer has killed both of them before.
Sarah gave Sam a sympathetic look.
“Sam,” she said, “if that idiot cousin of mine tries anything, I won’t hesitate to take him down.”
I nodded in agreement because I kind of wanted to stab Lucifer. I told everyone that I would be back. I think they thought I was going to go talk to Jack, but I decided to speak with Lucifer for a bit before this all happened.
Lucifer, honest to god, jumped in fear when you entered the room. He didn’t appear to actually be doing anything, just sitting there.
“Hello Lucifer. I thought you would like to know what is going on. We are sending your feathery ass back to the cage. Your presence is hurting your own son. I can’t let you do that.” I said.
Lucifer opened his mouth to speak, looking shocked, then closed it. He sighed heavily, looking defeated.
“Of course,” he said pitifully, “I guess it’s for the best.”
I was confused.
“Why the hell are you okay with this?”
He shrugged.
“I dunno,” he said, “it’s not like I can fight you on this.”
He wasn’t wrong. I left him alone and went to my room to see how Jack was doing.
Jack appeared to be asleep. He was curled into a ball on your bed under the covers.
“Hi jack. Everything is going to be fine. Lucifer wouldn’t be here for much longer.” I said.
Jack shifted slightly in his sleep, but didn’t actually wake up.
I figured that he wanted to sleep. I just sat next to him and rubbed his back. I just wanted him to be calm.
Jack jumped slightly when you touched him and groaned sleepily. He turned his head in your direction and squinted at you tiredly.
“Hi Jack.” I said softly.
“Hello,” he said groggily, making an accidental but decent impression of me.
“Lucifer will be gone soon. I promise. We will keep you save.” I told him.
I grabbed his hand and held it to tell him I was telling the truth.
He squeezed your hand and looked at you confusedly.
“What do you mean he ‘will be gone soon’? What’s happening?” Jack asked, sitting up.
I explained the plan to him. The whole time I kept a hold on him. This was to help keep him steady. I knew what it was like to not know someone and then not really get to know them. But at least now I have the chance. I hope one day Jack and Lucifer could have an easier time.
Jack was quiet. When you finished talking, he looked down at his lap. It was several long moments before he spoke.
“Thank you,” he said quietly, “I feel conflicted by this situation, but I don’t like… him being around here.”
“I understand.” Was all I said, when there was a knock.
“Come in.”
Gabe opened the door and peeked around it.
“Hey kiddo,” he said looking directly at you, “you ready to get this party started?”
I just nodded. I told Jack to stay here. Gabe and I went to the back and found Sarah waiting for us.
“Hi mom.”
She smiled at you.
“Hey Harmy,” she said, then looked at Gabe, “Cassie is saying goodbye to Deano, then we should be good to go.”
I think I was the most nervous because Jack is someone I care about very much and I don’t want to lose him. Because his dad is an ass.
I entered the room and looked between the three of you.
I opened the door. Looking at Lucifer he seemed ready to leave.
“Hows it going Luci?” I asked
He sighed pitifully.
“Ok, I guess.”
The four of us each took a ring and throw them under Lucifer. I hope Dean and Sam dont try coming down here until we got Luci out.
The rings united and stuck fast to the floor. Gabriel started chanting the spell to open the door. Sarah soon joined in and then I did.
I kept my glaze on Lucifer. Something was off. I couldn’t tell what it was. But then I remembered we hadn’t locked the door.
Lucifer had looked resigned to his fate, staring down as the ground began to crack open. But then something seemed to draw his attention. He suddenly looked upward in the direction of the door with a perplexed look on his face.
Gabriel glanced at you, trying to figure out why you hadn’t joined in the spell.
I should have known something wasnt going right. This all seemed to easy. If I had joined in and someone had opened the door. Chuck knows what would have happened.
“I can’t believe I’m about to say this. Stop we might need him.” I said.
Everyone in the room looked at you like you had grown a second head. The spell was stopped but the gate did not close, it remained in a state of semi-openness. “What the shit do you mean we might ‘need’ him, Harm?” Gabriel asked you.
“It seems that something is coming. There is a dark aura coming but we need his help to understand it.” I said.
I hated that I had to admit that Lucifer was going to help us. Everyone seemed concerned by my words. I ran out of the room and found Dean.
Gabriel groaned dramatically and snapped. The floor closed up and a comical looking iron cage materialized around Lucifer.
“Guess the Devil is NOT going back into the box.”
Dean was in the garage washing Baby. It looked like the car had been washed 50 times already that day, if her mirror like shine was anything to go by.
“Dad I need to tell you something.” I said.
Dean looked concerned. He went into what I was going to call his dad mood. I wasn’t sure how I was going to tell him about Lucifer.
“What’s up?” Dean said, trying and failing to sound nonchalant.
He dropped a sponge into a wash-bucket and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Something has changed in the world. It’s like a Disturbance in the force. This means Lucifer needs to stay.” I said.
I was scared about how he was going to react. I was more scared about Jack, but I had to tell Dean first he needs to know I might have to leave if we can’t fix this soon.
Dean looked confused and just slightly angry.
“Wait, what the fuck? One minute we are getting rid of the devil and now we are keeping him!? Christ, Harmony,” Dean scrubbed a hand over his face.“ You know what, fine, whatever. Wasn’t my decision to put Lucifer away. He can stay in the fucking basement.”
I wasn’t trying to make things difficult, but I knew something was wrong. It was almost like the light and dark were no longer in sync with each other which scared me more than anything in this world.
“Dad you have to understand, I have to protect the darkness that lives within all of us. if the balance is off, I have to fix it and if that means keepiong Lucifer here for a little while longer than fine, but I am going to take Jack away until Mom hides Lucifers presense from everyone in this bunker or elsesomething will go wrong.” I was more than angry with him. He knows I hate when he thinks he knows what to do all the time. I have to protect the balance because I was the first to tip it towards the dark.
Dean pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Right, of course, fine. Do what you’ve gotta do to keep everyone safe.”
Dean turned around and picked up the sponge from the wash bucket and slapped it on the Impala with a little more force than necessary.
I stormed out of the room and decided to go for a walk in town. I grabbed my phone and turned on my disney playlist and started listening to the descendants soundtrack.
Gabe went to check on Jack and see if I let him know what was going on.
Gabe hesitantly rapped a knuckle on the door to your bedroom, where Jack was.
“Jack, its Gabe. Can I come in?” Gabe asked through the door.
There was some shuffling on the other side of the door and then a distinctly groggy sounding Jack answered, “yeah.”
Gabe entered ready to talk to me and Jack about what was going to happen. He was surprised to see Jack alone. Jack looked as confused as Gabe was about where I was.
“Has Harmony talked to you recently?”
“Not since she told me that Lucifer was going to be put back in the cage. Why?” Jack asked. He was in your bed but now sat up and swung his legs over the edge.
"It seems like she felt something coming and stopped us from sending him back. Are you sure she didn't come in here?" Gabe was starting to get worried. I wasn't known for just leaving without saying something.
I went to the park in town and sat on a bench. I thought I should let someone know where I was when I felt a presence.
"Hello Amara."
