shiny foundation held their 2nd annual shiny arts festival today, december 21st, at gwanglim arts center. the festival, which was subtitled as my dear moon, focused on both the life and career of jonghyun and the primary purpose of the shiny foundation.
based on fan accounts, many of those close to and cherished by jonghyun attended, including: minho, red velvet’s yeri, jinki’s parents, taemin’s parents, and wefreaky’s sojin (jonghyun’s childhood and longtime best friend and member of his composition team). the current student roster of zion school, which jonghyun attended during his teenage years, were invited to perform “end of a day” alongside okdal and a number of those that he worked with during his time spent as dj on blue night radio. the festival itself was sponsored by mbc radio, which the show aired on. okdal performed their song “thank you for the great work today”. there were also performances held of “only one you need” and a percussion rendition of “hallelujah”.
messages were sent in for the festival by a taemin, taeyeon, iu, soran’s go young bae, coffee boy and shinkai makoto. those who were able to attend the festival have stated that it was “intimate and raw”, and that it felt as if there was more of jonghyun included in this festival compared to the first: more of his voice, more of his lyrics, more images and videos of him, more of his “laughter”. thank you, shiny foundation.
