Bruh, I didn't expect that the first character I'll be drawing in 2026 will be Yui from dialovers, but here I go I guess. I tried to go with a more expressive art style this time. Besides, Yui is really fun to draw in my opinion (not just because I find her cute or anything)
I downloaded the game from a totally legal not pirate website and man... This game is what I expected it to be and a total surprise at the same time. Now I'm going to rant.
I fully completed Reiji's and Ayatos routes and finished the first chapter of Kanatos route (I didn't like it so I stopped)
During Kanatos story I felt like slamming my head against the wall because of this buys constant moodswings and Ayato made me scream "it should've been me, not him, I would treat her right!". I'm around Yuis age so I'm allowed to say that 🙄
Reiji though... despite the obvious crimes towards Yui (3 crimes to be exact. I didn't really catch on the others since English isn't my first language or they were ambiguous enough that I just didn't catch on them.) in the end I really could say that yes, I would trust him to be in a relationship with a girl, even if he was an ass towards Yui. Actually no, he was an ass towards everyone so I guess that at least he views everyone equally.
Other 2 guys I tried out were absolutely disgusting, I'm sorry. Yuri was my highlight during the whole game because she isn't a bad character, actually, if you don't perceive her as a self insert. I could totally understand why she was acting the way she did even if I genuinely would like her to get out of the situation (I'm looking at Ayato and Kanato). She is really cute in my opinion.
To me diabolik lovers is a simulator of looking at a wonderful, beautiful, smart girl dating a guy that clearly doesn't deserve her. Even Reiji. Though compared to Ayato who consistently commits a crime towards Yui once in 2-3 episodes or that menace that is Kanato Reiji does seem like an okay option.
If you like them - I'm not judging you. The game doesn't position itself as an example of healthy relationship. Everyone can have their opinions.
But oh my god, Yui deserves so much better than these guys and I doubt anyone can argue with that

I think there is something odd about Laito's stomach.(Maybe it's a joke or something, but if this is true,it's not that normal for a demon like him.)

It's very human to feel pain or weakness but he's not a human... (There are examples such as Subaru(almost) being sent to the bottom of the ocean, a vampire won't be able to get tired even if he runs a lot,effect of blood loss is almost zero,and Kanato falling off the balcony and not having any problems ect.)
Reiji saved Yui from Cordelia with a potion in the first game and stabbing Shu to death with a poisoned sword.(I personally believe that Laito may have been poisoned by someone.)
Of his brothers,he only adds the [-kun] suffix to his names: Ayato, Kanato, and Subaru, while he simply calls Shu and Reiji by their first names. When asked why this was in a Q&A in a magazine, he simply replied that he hadn't noticed it and now finds it strange (Q&A from Dengeki Girl's Style, 2014).(I think Laito somehow forgot something,or someone made him forget.Karlheinz may have erased his memory.)

Beatrix seems to be supported by the aristocrats...she's wicked and sadistic.It's something she did to cause (life-long) damage.She wanted the outcome of events to be like this.(Reiji's personality is her personality.)
Cordelia had to save Laito with her blood.After all, her blood has healing powers.
I also think that Cordelia does not badmouth the children of other mothers to her sons.(Subaru says that the triplets are worse behaved than him,Shu and Reiji, and the triplets are quite good-hearted compared to the others in YB.Also Shu used Ayato as a bait.)
(While Reiji says that Edgar is just a human,we also see that Shu wants to defend his friend,in fact,he may have started acting like this as a result of Edgar's disappearance before their ceremony.I think he was traumatized before the ceremony because he isn't his old cute self in YB...Couldn't Beatrix have told about drinking blood early on?Beatrix is also someone who cares about her children.This is how Beatrix raised them so that they would succeed.)

My favorite pastime is finding someone who only knows diabolik lovers as that one cringe anime they watched when they were 13 and convincing them it's actually based on a yaoi game with Subaru and Kou as main leads.
