While rewatching the first episode of the first season of the Diabolik Lovers anime, I noticed an important detail that I haven't heard anyone mention before.
When Reiji introduces Yui to the brothers, and after Komori realizes who she's surrounded by (and that nothing is killing them), she chooses to "run away." The triplets chase after her.
Kanato tempts Yui with sweets, Laito cuts her off from the outside world (by cutting the phone wire), and Ayato catches her right at the exit, pinning her against the wall.
Trying to escape from them, Yui goes up the stairs, and the only room available to her turns out to be Cordelia's room.
Cordelia (perhaps without even realizing it) gave the girl shelter — maybe assuming they wouldn't go in there.
So it turns out that while everyone calls Cordelia a monster, she is Yui Komori's only salvation.
After all, even Cordelia's heart itself is the only reason Yui Komori is alive. Without that heart, Kanato's wax figure collection would have gained a new piece.
And ironically, it's the triplets who chase after Yui. Because on the night of Cordelia's murder, they also chased after her.
Ayato dealt the fatal blow — if Del were human, she wouldn't have even been able to take a step (immobilized, right?). Laito pushed her off the balcony, wanting to completely possess her (cut her off from the world, right?). And Kanato burned the already dead body of his mother, caring about the warmth of her body (with Yui, this can't exactly be compared to seduction, but to some extent, sweets are perceived as care, so the angle could be leaning that way).
Yui, on her very first day at the Sakamaki mansion, mirrored Cordelia's last day of life in that very mansion.
Shu, Reiji, and Subaru showed no interest in her, and I think for the same reason — because they didn't participate in the murder, so that moment wasn't given to them.
Idk if anyone ever said or thought this but doing few headcanons hearing "Expensive" of Ayesha Erotica made me realize that Kou hear and love all her songs, he's the Ayesha of DL! 😭
Look, the anime is all kinds of crazy and messed up, but Subaru's hand placement is so lovely. At least Yui doesn't have to worry about falling when he's supporting her entire body.

Why fandom decided that Laito had sex with Cordelia?
My position: they never had sex. Bloodsucking only. Not without a certain reason.
I would like to prove that claimimg they were sexual lovers is not correct at all.
Watching the anime only and without any accompanying sources you might not even guess any sex. However the fact that Laito was in love and desired his own mother is obvious. In s01e04 he sighs glaring at the moon remembering the smell, the voice of his beloved' swears eternal love to her; in s01e08 he having pushed his mother off the balcony said that now she belongs only to him forever; in s01e11 he expresses regret that he doesn't see her in hell, and in s01e12 while her dressburning he mumbles something about her (maybe Karl's also but due to contex it must be about Cordelia) and Richter's actions to them.
Laito: I love you. Always, always, forever. Whether you want it or not. I've never forgotten you for a moment. Your voice, your smell, I remember everything.

Cordelia in s01e08 asked Laito to save her and, holding out her bloody hand, said that she truly loved him:

And that's the whole story of their relationship in anime.
Unlike Ayato who was thrown into the lake in s01e02 and said to live at the its' bottom in s01e07 Laito seems having no reason to hate his mother but the fact that he desired her is an indisputable (his 'you're mine forever').
No official source desribed it as sexual relationship. Never.
This was only thought up by the fans themselves.
Analyzing DL keep in mind key aspects that important to understand the story:
1. the title is based on a bloodsucking fetish: bloodish is a much more intimate process than simply eating, it's erotic;
2. Laito and others are demonic creatures with a distorted nature, they don't feel like humans and have no human heart;
3. DL women are weak physically and magically;
4. Cordelia's blood and even its' smell drove vampires crazy.
In the first game there are only two oddy episodes that fans automatically saw as sex.
1.. DL Laito Dark Epilogue. Laito has a dream of Cordelia coming to him: she says that she is 'not enough' and that she 'loves' him, he promises to 'give her love'.
2. DL Laito Maniac Epilogue. After killing some man Cordelia asks Laito to give her 'warmth'.
The rest flashbacks do not hint at anything at all. Imprisonment in a dungeon (DL Laito Maniac Prologue) and a request to help killing Karlheinz (DL Laito Ecstasy Prologue), Cordelia's murder (DL Laito Ecstasy Epilogue).
But inside Yui Cordelia called her son a 奴隷. It seems to be a special term, we would return to it.
That made fans decide that the mother sex with her own son. If Laito and Cordelia would be human, not bloodsucking demons, I would agree with fans. But from the start I passed the games I noticed many details in Laito's logic that were not that simple.
We have a blood-drinking fetish. Cordelia had special blood. So this story may be more complicated.
More, Blood. There are only two flashbacks with Laito and Cordelia. Dark Prologue and Ecstasy Epilogue. In MB Dark Prologue Laito asks Cordelia in bedroom ‘why doing such a thing’. Cordelia answers because she loves him and what a place in a world where any mother doesn’t love her child. Laito answers that’s ‘here’.
Fans again decide that Laito is hinting at sexualized ‘love’ between him and his mother.
In MB Dark Epilogue and MB Ecstasy Prologue the butler of their castle invited Laito to Cordelia. Laito provocatively asked the reason. To the butler’s unfinished answer Laito only grinned and called him a ‘bad old man’.
In MB Ecstasy Prologue Ayato tried to hammer into his brother that Cordelia didn’t love any of them.
MB Dark Prologue, MB Dark Epilogue, MB Maniac Epilogue are episodes which his relationship with the maid Hilde are shown as he decided to use words of love for his own purposes and to seduce her. His monologues also are hardly grasp their essence, it is often unclear who Laito is talking about - himself, someone or in general.
Dark Fate. Laito refused to acknowledge Cordelia as his mother but Richter scolded him for this. Yui wanted a solution to this problem.
DF Laito Maniac Epilogue. Laito himself suggested to his mother to forget about ‘that person’ because she already ‘has him’. Cordelia snapped that Laito is not Karlheinz and is not a replacement of him. And her answer really affected him (‘If not a replacement who am I?’)
DF Laito Vampire End. Laito having already learned about his father’s experiments makes a grave for Cordelia, calls her ‘kaa-san’ for the first time and says goodbye to her.
In SS for the Dark Fate game he again refers to her ‘kaa-san’. Ayato and Kanato have mom’s blood, so they would be okay (true-sweet-moments).
Lost Eden. Laito only remembers Cordelia once comparing her to Yui whom he suspects of cheating on Kino (I.E Laito Ecstasy Prologue).
Lunatic Parade. Yui stutters about 「張切り」= Laito’s ‘betrayal’ by Cordelia in his childhood (LP Laito Chapter 2).
Chaos Lineage. Some episodes with Yu’s heartbeat and her avoiding Laito memorizing Cordelia again.
That’s all. That made fans thinking Cordelia and Laito had sex.
The CD-drama Versus II Ayato vs Laito even pushed fans to decide that Cordelia raped her son when he was a child. But again Laito’s words are not about it.
However I repeat our bloodsucking story with giving blood that means too much and Cordelia’s special blood suggests a much more difficult story. So then we would learn all the fanbooks, descriptions, dramas and other characters (especially Kanato and Ayato) conversations to understand what it was. Sex or bloodsucking only.
Cordelia inside Yui resisted Laito. Laito saw a resemblance between Yui's resistance and his mother's
In the first game, Cordelia manifested through Yui during the story block scenes (07-10), when we chose S-answers. How can you tell that Cordelia is the one answering for the heroine or somehow influencing her response? Most often,Yui would notice afterward that her mouth seemed to move on its own or that she had done something unexpected.
In Laito's route, the peak moment becomes his statement in response to Yui's words: "Stop it!"
｢そういう口を利くと、ますますあの人に似てる気がするね。｣
Laito: Nfu. When you talk like that, it feels more and more like you resemble "that person."
And here, by ｢あの人｣ (that person), he is definitely referring to Cordelia. This happens in DL Laito Ecstasy 10 — in the last scene with a choice of answer in his route. Unfortunately, if you get a bad ending and don't have enough points, this scene won't open. Or if you are on the M-path, the S-answers are automatically skipped. In that case, the player doesn't learn what the entire chain of sadistic answers and Laito's reactions in his route was leading to. And these answers are very important, because they reveal Cordelia — even better than the flashbacks do.
Just think: when Yui pushes Laito away and tells him to "stop," she resembles Cordelia. This means that Cordelia also once pushed someone away — one of the men or Laito himself. Simply the fact: resistance = resemblance to Cordelia.
Since this scene is the culmination of all the S-answers, we can draw certain conclusions about Yui's other sadistic answers as well: they are also connected to Cordelia's behavior. So let's go back to the beginning of the route and trace all the sadistic answers.
• DL Laito Dark 07: During the full moon, Laito properly tastes Yui's blood for the first time and recognizes its taste. We are given a choice just as Laito is about to bite us: we can say "drink my blood" (M), or we can say "I allow you to drink my blood, are you satisfied?" (S). With the S-answer, Laito will note that this arrogant behavior is strange for Yui, but he liked her self-confidence like that too — and not without reason. Yui realizes that this answer only inflamed Laito's desires.

It's here that Cordelia begins to gain the upper hand in such moments. And, importantly, she does not intend to agree with Laito's words about passionate desires.

More and more, Cordelia is controlling Yui's actions: it was she who slapped her son, not Yui.

It’s important not only that Cordelia pushed Laito away both in the present and in the past. What’s crucial is Laito’s reaction to this resistance: he rejoices. He enjoys it when Yui (Cordelia) scolds him and calls him a pervert. The words "I'll punish you" and "stop" only arouse him more. Even the slap, the bitten lip, and the pain — he enjoys it all.
In other words, if Cordelia resisted her son in the past in this way, it was futile: Laito enjoyed all of this and it couldn’t stop him.
And therefore, if Cordelia decided to control him through her blood, there’s nothing surprising about it.
A weak woman can’t influence a son who is much stronger than her and desires her. If physical confrontation, verbal demands to stop, and threats of punishment have no effect on him.
However, such behavior from Laito is not his fault. Perhaps this obsession with her blood is connected to the concept of a "thrall" in the canon.

Why did Cordelia NOT 'have sex with Richter in front of Kanato and Laito'?
Part Two: LAITO
Part One: Kanato is still being edited
According to the myths, Kanato wasn't the only one who witnessed his mother's "intimate relationship" with her "lover" - Laito supposedly saw a lot of things, too. But no matter what the fandom makes up for drama's sake, it's really not that bad: the youngest triplet was just unlucky enough to witness Cordelia giving Richter her blood. It happened in the DL Laito Maniac Prologue.
Sometime in the past, Karlheinz ordered his son imprisoned in a dungeon - for what exactly, by the way, is not explained here or in the game.
The scene begins with Richter's poems, which serve as an epigraph.
After that, Laito is shown on a black background — he is talking to the butler:
一出せ! ボクを......ここから出せ!!
Laito: Let me out! Let me out... From here!!!
無理です、坊ちゃま。旦那様にきっく言いつけられております。
Butler: That's impossible, young master. Our esteemed lord has strictly ordered it.

This is where the flashback ends.
All the fans then decided — and still believe — that Cordelia decided to have sex with Richter in front of her son — and forced the boy, as a "good boy," to watch the copulation. I would agree with this point of view — if our heroes were not vampires, but ordinary people, and if the story was not based on the fetish of drinking blood. Since the process of absorbing blood is eroticized according to the canon, then only he could be implied in this scene.
We hear the rustle of clothes — this sound always accompanies the blood-drinking scenes when the boys expose the neck, back and other parts of the heroine's body, into which they are going to dig their fangs.
That is, the rustle cannot be considered proof that Cordelia took off her dress or Richter lifted her skirts — for that very specific purpose.
Also, Cordelia utters a line that many took as a desire to have sex soon:
｢待ち焦がれてアタシ...... 熱いわ......｣:
• ｢待ち焦がれて <= 待ち焦がれる｣ — 'to be impatient for, to wait (anxiously) for, to eagerly look forward to, to long for'
• ｢アタシ｣ — «me»
｢熱い｣ = «hot»
• ｢熱い｣ — "hot," "ardent, passionate; in love."
But according to the canon, the body can burn from the expectation of blood drinking. There are many examples of this.
In the Short Story 'Fairytale' from Kanato Character Book, Kanato says:
もう温度は失われてしまった血だけど、どんなお菓子よりも癖になるほどの美味しさは変わらない。
"Her blood had already lost its temperature, but her deliciousness had not changed, the dependence on which was greater than on any candy."
According to the context, Yui's blood turned cold. And it's much more pleasant for a vampire to drink hot. Subaru told us about this in MB Subaru Ecstasy 07:
お前は血を飲まないから知らないだろうが……
Subaru: You don't know because you don't drink blood.…
熱で火照った人間の血は熱くてうまいんだ。お前今、風呂上りで火照ってんだろ。
Subaru: The blood of a human bursting with heat is hot and delicious. And now you're burning up after taking a bath.
In this case, Yui got hot with the help of a bath. But there were other ways mentioned in the canon. For example, with the help of fangs, the body begins to burn from the bite.

In CL Laito Story 07, the triplets used fire to "prepare" Yui's blood.
However, body temperature does not rise only after a bite. The mere anticipation of it, the expectation of blood-drinking, according to the characters' remarks, contributes to the "hot":

Everywhere ｢熱｣ in the context of the state of the body during blood-drinking.
It turns out that the fact that Yui feels the heat even before the fangs sink, betrays her desire to feel them in herself. And in the flashback with Cordelia and Richter, everything is similar: her body "burns with expectation" — it allegedly asks, craves a bite.
In MB Kou Heaven 03, Yui admitted that her body was getting hotter from the desire to drink her blood, and directly asked Kou to do it.

Laito said the same thing in his very first CD drama ドS吸血CD Vol.4 逆巻ライト:
[17:44] "As I slowly run my tongue over it, I can definitely tell that right underneath it, your blood starts to bubble and flow to the surface, slowly heating up in those spots... whispering to me, begging me to flow into my body sooner rather than later."
[18:07] "Your blood is so hot, huh? It must be so happy, because it will turn into energy circulating through my veins? It's worth getting close to you, and your blood starts begging to drink it."
[18:58] "But no matter how scared you are, it's worth remembering the pleasure of me eating you... as your body slowly starts to hot up, right? The pleasure of me dominating you, desiring you..."
From the anticipation of the moment when the fangs sink into the heroine's body, it heats up = burns. But did Cordelia herself "burn" = desire the fangs in this way?
And now let's remember: in the first game, Cordelia asked little Kanato to sing, because his singing made her "body start to burn" (DL Kanato Ecstasy Prologue). Many still claim with full confidence that the first wife was sexually aroused by her son's voice. But it's not about "sexual arousal": she simply prepared her cold blood for blood drinking, made it hot in this way. Cordelia, unlike Yui, is also a demon — we realized from the anime that vampires have icy skin.
(It seems that the touches or fangs of the men who drank her could hardly kindle a "flame" in her and make her blood boil, since they had to resort to such sophisticated methods).
DL Sequel Kanato
Similarly, in DL Laito Maniac Epilogue, Cordelia responds to Laito's words by asking him to "give her some warmth":

Of course, by analogy with all the examples discussed above, it's clear that the conversation is about blood-drinking, which Cordelia also used to control Laito. But why was she so cold?
Abnormal cold was often felt by other DL characters — Kanato and Shu. The cold is a consequence of their loneliness and despair.
DL Kanato Maniac 07:
こんなんじゃ、全然足りない。 ……だから、僕は……雨が降るたびに、 寒くて寒くて……っ。
Kanato: This isn't enough... That's why... whenever it rains, I get so cold, so, so cold...!

Kanato feels this eerie cold during the rain — it was on a rainy night that he burned his mother's corpse (DL Kanato Ecstasy Epilogue), hoping to make her exclusively his. Now, looking at Teddy, which holds her ashes, he understands that he only received "remains," which are "not enough" for him.
This is the answer to the question of why Cordelia asked Kanato to sing to her and felt terribly cold: it wasn't about sexual arousal at all; she felt the same coldness from her own despair and loneliness.
We've established that the body of a victim or a demon can literally burn from a bite or the anticipation of bloodsucking.
Now we need to understand what excites Laito, what arouses him: is it when he watches someone else drink from or have sex with his victim?
In his own route, there's a scene where he precisely recreates something he once saw in the dungeon — DL Laito Ecstasy 09. In this scene, Yui finds herself in a torture chamber, where she meets Ayato. He tries to advise her to "do it" and not to "remain faithful" to Laito.
DL Laito Ecstasy 09:
間いたんだよ。オマエがそろそろ覚醒するって話をよ。だからさ、ちょっとばかし、味見ってやつ ?
Ayato: I heard... that you're about to awaken. So, I thought, why not a little taste test?
味見……!?
Yui: A taste test...!?

Ayato: Half human and half vampire. I wonder what that taste is like.

But then Laito himself appears in the torture chamber — it's interesting and important what question he asks his brother and how.

When Laito delivers his first line, his sprite shows no smile, and his eyes are narrowed. For the second line, his expression becomes aggressive. Furthermore, the word "what", which is usually written with the kanji ｢何｣ or hiragana ｢なに｣, is here highlighted in katakana — as ｢ナニ｣. The emphasis is on it — Laito is concerned with "what exactly" Ayato intended to do to his victim. If his brother was planning to do something with her that Laito wouldn't approve of, he might even "torture him to death."
Ultimately, the young man gets a "brilliant" idea: Laito suggests that Ayato drink Yui's blood, while he himself intends to observe the event. Ayato accepts the offer.
In the process, Yui notes that her body, once again, "is burning, blazing." And Laito observes that she is clearly enjoying someone else's fangs. He also calls the girl the same name Ayato used for his mother: ｢アバズレ｣ = "whore," "slut."

Let's return to the dungeon episode with Cordelia and Richter. Laito, watching them, was also smiling and getting aroused. That's all. Besides the lines of dialogue, which for the most part repeat phrases from the game (which we have already analyzed), we need to pay attention to the visual sequence.
First: the way Richter buries himself in Cordelia's hair in two frames exactly replicates the position of Yui and Ayato in the CG from DL Laito Ecstasy 09. That very scene analyzed above, where Laito recreates his memories.
Ayato is definitely drinking Yui's blood at this moment — we understand this from the dialogue and sounds. However, there is no blood on the girl's neck, no bite marks, and Ayato's face is buried in her hair. It's not strange that Richter's face, while drinking Cordelia's blood, is similarly buried in her hair, and there are no bite marks or blood on her neck either.
Second: in the manga, the boys sometimes undressed Yui down to her underwear to drink from her neck. It's logical that Cordelia would also lower her dress straps for the same purpose.
How is this episode described in the fanbook for the first game?
"The main character is confused by the consciousness of Cordelia — Laito's mother — awakening within her. Laito offers her to Ayato, allowing him to drink her blood. Being drunk from by Ayato in front of Laito, she is bewildered by the pleasure she feels. Cordelia, Laito's actions... — many things trouble the heroine's heart."
After all that has been presented, we can draw an unambiguous conclusion:
Cordelia deliberately allowed Richter to drink her blood in front of Laito — nothing more.
Everything attests to this:
• the message of the phrase "the body burns with anticipation";
• Laito's logic when recreating an analogous scene with Ayato and Yui;
• Laito's willingness to share the girl's blood with another man, but his readiness to kill if someone were to have sex with her;
• the position of the figures in the manga;
• the correspondence of the figures' positions in the manga and the game's CG, where only bloodsucking definitely occurred.
There is no other possible interpretation of this scene. The conclusion in this case is unequivocal.
What we have just analyzed is not a theory; it is a fact. The one and only possible one. If any reviewers on their YouTube channels claim otherwise, they are incorrect. I have thoroughly explained the meaning embedded in these scenes, how they are revealed and presented. Any other interpretation, a.k.a. "Cordelia had sex with Richter/her lovers in front of Kanato/Laito," is fundamentally wrong.
