Southington 08/02/2016 Paul Woodworth of Princeton Hydro LLC, left, and Steve Gephard, Fish Biologist with DEEP, right, check the depth, and where the wall ends and the seam begins in the Quinnipiac River as they take a break to evaluate the area while removing the Clark Brothers Dam, which has been in the river for 100+ years. Woodworth and Gephard try to find a nice cutoff point as to not destabilize the bank for environmental and structural reasons. This is one of 4000 dams in Connecticut. The removal of this dam opens up about 16 miles of free flowing river. Fish will be able to leave the Long Island Sound in New Haven and swim up to Plantsville. WEST HARTFORD 07/25/16 Bennett Miller, 92, of West Hartford, returns the ball while playing doubles tennis in 92-degree heat Monday morning at Fernridge Park. Miller, a retired pediatrician, plays tennis two to four times a week with the West Hartford Seniors tennis group. The group of about 35-40 seniors is organized and scheduled to play several times a week on several courts in the area by Richard Levitt, also 92, of West Hartford, who was playing on Miller's team.
