“Who said anything about being fired? You’ve been promoted - Minister. That essentially makes me your servant now.” Haru smiled, looking down at the stack of papers as she talked and piled. Smirking, he ran his fingertips lightly across the pile once, just enough to make the top page or two askew. Pressing down gently with his finger, he looked up and shrugged. “Coffee sounds good. Black? Cream and sugar?” He asked, fixing her stack, then looking back over his shoulder as he walked towards the pot. “Well,” he said as he poured himself a cup. “I figure they think you’ve had it too easy lately and sent me your way to remind you it could always be worse? Honestly, haven’t a clue. Trying not to let my imagination get the better of me.”
“Oh. Well. Then have a seat,” she smirked at him, gesturing towards the chairs on the other side of her desk. “I’ll get you a long list of things to accomplish by the end of the day.” Katherine’s smirk turned into a smile as she sat on the edge of the desk. laughing as he walked over to the coffee. “Darling, you don’t actually have to drink that. We have decaf - or tea. Water.” She met his gaze, still smiling, before shaking her head. “Have you gotten into any trouble? Sent here by the Head Auror or Wizengamot?” She tilted her head to the side to look at him. “That’s alot to be brought straight up to the Ministers office.”
Haru sighed with relief, taking a seat across from her. “Thank Merlin, I don’t actually drink this,” he said, looking at the dark brown liquid, holding the cup away from him. “I, uh… well, not that I’m aware of?” He had a long list of things he did that would justify being called up here, outside of work. If they knew about that, though, he’d be in worse trouble than this. He groaned as she mentioned the Wizengamot and Minister - he only hoped it wasn’t something as serious as that. “Listen, you’re the expert - any insight as to why I’m here? How often does this happen?”
