So basically... I'm about to finish uncanny counter s2. And I'm in love with the characters and plot. Watch me make a S3 prediction type of fanfic where somun has a love interest that's also a counter as strong as him but out of Korea.
"I should've found an escape by now" Minho x Reader
Sypnosis: Minho gets devastated by another death in the glade. He blames himself for taking too long to find an escape. You choose to disagree.
Word count: 1.1k
Genre: Super light angst and comfort
I've been so obsessed with Maze runner lately and I can't sweat this enough but I love finding good rare gem headcanons so I thought I'd just share this with you guys hihi. Just let me know if you guys have your own requests that you'd want me to write for you.
"It's the little things, always." Harvey SDV
Do you ever just wonder how the phrase "too good to be true" can be more of a curse than a blessing? It's the uncertainty, the doubt. The need to always look so closely to see any source of flaw that can tell you—he is indeed not too good to be true. That maybe, finally, you won't feel so out of his league.
It was the luau, a yearly event of the town wherein the Governor visits to taste the soup the town had made for the community.
It was supposed to be a fun day, filled with soup and friendly banter until you decided to throw the Mayor's purple shorts in the soup bowl. A funny prank , if you do ask yourself. But as laughter erupted from your throat, Harvey quietly chuckling behind you, the both of you were confused to hear a loud uniform gasp from everyone, even followed by Judge filled gazes from the people.
Murmurs can be heard while Mayor Lewis begged for forgiveness from the Governor. The people glancing at you and Harvey's direction as if you guys had just suggested a heist.
"she is so childish and immature for that."
"how does Harvey even put up with that?"
"I knew from the very start she wasn't trustworthy. She's like a mold, ruining this town."
"why would she do that..."
"why is Harvey even with her? She doesn't even know proper etiquette."
You and Harvey had been dating recently. A season and 3 days to be exact. It had been quite a talk of the town knowing how forcefully proximited the community was. The community never failing to remind you how absurdly "lucky" you are to be with him. The luau incident was just the tip of the iceberg. Even though, Harvey had assured you that day that everything was gonna be okay, it still hurts to have heard those words, let alone have that reputation of yours stick with you within the continuous days of the both of you dating.
The mother's asking about how long you had pestered him to finally say yes. The bachelorettes giggling whilst they paint stories on how you had swept him off his feet. The bachelors still in doubt, knowing how much of a big difference your persona was to Harvey's. It was exhausting, to say the least. Even though you knew how it was all just friendly banter of the group. It still pained you to think that maybe, you weren't enough.
Swoosh!
"For Yoba's sake this is the 6th fish I've let go today!" You frustratingly stomped a foot as you riled the rod back to yourself. Why is life so hard lately? You can only think of as you looked at your empty bucket that was supposed to be filled with fishes of different kinds.
It's not just the fishing. It's everything else too.
The farm? Such small gain from expensive seeds and fertilizer. The foraging? Everyone had access to that. Let's not even talk about the mining. It's not even because I was scared. Not even near the reason of the ores not giving me enough money.
You can only sigh as you took a seat on the ground, looking down at the mountain's natural source of water. The mines were right there. You could easily just go in, grab a few, then go out. But remembering how Harvey and you talked about it? The nonstop fights that were all just stirred by the underlying worry he had for me? You could only clutch your fishing rod. He does care about me, he doesn't care about how the others perceive the new farmer because you were enough. You are enough. Right?
"hey there kid" Linus smiled as he walked towards you, leaving just enough space to assure you comfortability.
"hey Linus.." you smiled a little, giving him a small wave as you hugged your knees, resting your cheek on them.
"you seem to be distracted, is there something bothering you?" He asked as he took a seat just beside you, even dangling his feet in the water.
"you know the town's doctor, right?" You asked as you followed his gaze on the mountains.
"doc Harvey? Of course I do. He's a nice kid that one. Always persists on going to him to have free monthly checkups" he chuckled, looking at you just for his smile to somehow fade a little, sensing your energy. "You guys are dating, right?" He added
You could only huff a laughter "are you confused of that too?" You forced a smile "perhaps bewildered? I mean at this point I'm not suprised—"
"Kid, I am not surprised, let alone bewildered by that. Why should I? You guys seem so fitting together knowing how fast you had made me open my heart to you" Linus countered before you could spiral even further.
The silence after that was defeaning, dreadful almost. And it makes you hiss, knowing how painfully observant linus is.
"Are you?" He asked warily.
"I don't follow.."
"are you suprised that you're dating him?" He continued, looking at you as if gauging out an answer from just your expression before you can even form words.
Linus had been a very great friend of yours ever since you came to Pelican Town. He had been the first of the few you had grown fond and comfortable of, knowing how his intentions were nothing but pure. It made your defenses crumble.
"Maybe. I mean, everyone had been—"
"why care about everyone thinks? Let me ask you kid. What does Harvey think?"
Pure silence...
It had been a few days since you last talked to him.. unfair, you know. But ever since the both of you opened up your relationship to the community, it felt more and more of a charity case. Atleast that's what you think it is...
"haven't told him about it.. been busy." You excused, looking out at the view rather than his scrutinizing gaze.
"you're just sitting on the ground, talking to me. And the view you're looking at? It will stay like that for a few more years. I think you can spare a few minutes to walk to the clinic." Linus suggested with a kind smile.
And well, before you knew it, you were already holding a cup of hot coffee while taking a few deep breaths outside the door. It's just harvey, a person you trust, you love. He'll understand.
As you raised your hand to turn the door knob open, you could immediately hear laughter. Maru and Harvey's. They were discussing something about mitochondria that seemed to have tickled Harvey's interest so much that he's bursting a gall bladder from his laughter.
Your eyes could only look at Harvey. He seemed so happy. You had never been able to see his face that lit up before. He was very much in his bubble whenever he was around her. How can he not? She was a woman of stem, warm, bubbly, social and patient. Not to mention that she's pretty too...
I wanted to be okay, to force a smile and continue on what I was planning on doing but my heart clenched. Maybe it was because you were on your last thread of insecurity that you were walking on. A thin thread that was holding you up before you finally fall and break.
"Farmer!" Maru smiled as she waved at you, urging the conversation to end as Harvey's eyes landed on you. It had been quite a while since you both talked after that hot air balloon date. It made his eyes widen a little to see you visit him.
"Farmer" he smiled warmly, unaware of the tug of war happening inside of your head "come in! Is there anything—"
"It's nothing" you forced a smile, forcing yourself to walk towards him, placing the cup of coffee you had brewed on the counter. "Just had an extra cup I could spare." You forced yourself to look at anywhere else but their eyes, the feeling of something damp causing your eyes to be heavy.
"Farmer..? Do you want to tal—
"I'll be on my way" you excused yourself, your numb legs weakened as they made their way back at the farm.
HARVEY'S POV
"what was that about?" He could only murmur under his breath
Maru sighed as she looked at the vase Harvey had your bouquet in. "Do you know why flowers are given as a sign of dating?" She asked, looking at his boss.
His eyebrows knitted at the sudden question, his gaze meeting hers "Gifting flowers can indicate serious intent beyond a casual outing, suggesting the person values the potential growth of the relationship. Is it not?" Harvey asked, the confusion lingering around him like an unwelcome gush of cold air.
"That and to see whether or not the other person can keep it grown, beautiful, fragile." She gestured at the flower vase, the petals nearing it's end, almost as if symbolising her boss' own relationship.
Harvey can only sigh heavily, understanding the underlying context behind Maru's statement.
"I've just been so busy lately and I keep telling myself to do it the next day—"
"you still don't get it?" Maru shook her head with a sad smile "Harvey do you know how bombarded Farmer is by the town lately? And it's not just because of her duties as a literal provider for everyone, but because of how the people had been perceiving her ever since you guys dated" Maru sighed, noticing how you'd been so zoned out, hellbent even on avoiding another conversation about you being so... you... that it seems to clash with Harvey's persona.
"Harvey, you're the town's Doctor. The only one. You have one high of a reputation as it is, the age gap doesn't help at all too. Everyone firmly believes you're way too out of her league and they've been sugarcoating it with so called banters whenever they get a chance." Silence erupted for a quite while, letting the words process in Harvey's head before Maru added, "f I were you, I'd start getting worried if I'm loosing her.."
