A Jedi Wedding!
It was the morning of the Wedding between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mason. Obi-Wan was getting his hair done by the hairstylist he had hired. Obi-Wan had grown his hair out into a mullet for the wedding, so it was a little on the longer side.
He and Mace had sent out the invitations a few months prior and today was the big day. Obi-Wan had picked his daughter, Ebony, to be the flower girl and Luke to be the ring bearer. Anakin was picked to be his best man. And it had been decided that Qui-Gon would walk Obi-Wan down the isle up to Mace when the time came.
Qui-Gon stood out in the lobby of the building the wedding was taking place at. It was a convention center, a really nice big one. They would be having the wedding and reception there.
Qui-Gon gazed around at all the decorations and smiled softly. He was really excited for the wedding. After a moment, however, he pulled out a photo of Obi-Wan as a young Padawan and gazed down at it sadly. He sniffled and wiped the tears from his eyes. That evening he would be giving away his son. And while he was really happy for Obi-Wan and Mason, he was also really sad.
“Heh…seems like it was only yesterday that I had just taken you on as my Padawan, Obi-Wan.” Qui-Gon said to himself as more tears pricked his eyes. “And now look at you. Y-You’re all grown up and getting married.”
@hattressofmadness
Hattress waved. “Hey, Ebs!”
Miracle ran over and hugged her. “Cuz Ebony!”
A portal opened nearby. Wonder perked. “Here’s the fam!”
First, two teenagers ran through. The boy was taller than his father, and skinny to boot. His face was blank, except an excited smile. He wore a suit, but lost the tie a while back. The girl looked shriveled, but she had a grand smile and was about 5.5. She wore a simple, but pretty dress. Both children hugged their father. “HI DAD!!!”
Wonder laughed and hugged his teens. “Hiya guys!”
Three adults came through. One was nearly as tall a building, and seemed to match the boy. Realizing he might not fit, Blood Thunderclap-Hyde shrunk down. At a lower height, two small eyes could be barely seen. He wore a rogue’s outfit, with a ton of knives hidden around his person. The second adult was only a little taller than the girl. He wore a visor, a nice suit, and was typing rapidly on a tablet. Acryoa Hyde nodded at everyone, before his fingers returned to rapidly flying across the screen. The last male looked like he could pass for Sakura if he wasn’t taller and… was a guy. But Rose’s body type was more fenimine than male, so anyone taking a quick glance wouldn’t tell right away. The Bard, of course, had a bunch of instruments strung to him.
Wonder perk. “Everyone made it! Everyone, this is my fam. The boy is my eldest son, Izuku.”
Izuku nodded. “Hiya!”
“The sweetheart here is my daughter, Sakura.”
Sakura instantly got hit by shyness and kinda hid behind her father. “H-H-Hi…”
“Tall-Now-Decent-Size guy is Blood Thunderclap. But I think he’s going by Marble now?”
Marble chuckled, and signed, “A pleasure to meet you.”
“The workaholic is my newest mate, Acryoa.”
Visor nodded. “A pleasure to meet you all. I promise, I’m almost done.”
“And the Bard is Rose, my first husband.”
Rose nodded, and smiled. “A pleasure to meet you all.”
“It’s nice to meet you! I’m Anakin, the lady behind me is my wife Padme. The two kids next to her are our twins, Luke and Leia, the tall ghost man is Qui-Gon Jinn and-!” Anakin went to motion to Ebony but before he could she ran off into another room nearby. “Ebony?!”
Qui-Gon sighed. “Oh dear…I was afraid this might happen.”
He turned to Wonder and his family. “Ebony…Ebony has Autism. And she’s never done well in large crowds. Especially when it’s with people she isn’t familiar with. I need to speak with you, Wonder.”
He took Wonder aside to speak with him in private. Once they were alone he spoke. “Wonder…we planned this to be a small wedding. I didn’t want to say this in front of your family because I didn’t want to upset them, but we weren’t really expecting them. We weren’t prepared for this many people to show up. You kinda caught us off guard with your whole family showing up.”
He frowned. “I really apologize and am extremely embarrassed about this, but Obi-Wan and I assumed you’d be coming alone. So we don’t really have seating for your extended family I’m afraid. I’m sure we can figure out something, they’re more than welcome to stay, but again I am so sorry.”
Anakin went after Ebony. He found her in the ballroom sitting on the ground curled in a ball. She was clutching her head and rocking back and forth.
“Ebony? Sweetie?” Anakin knelt down in front of her.
“W-Want my dad….too many….want my dad!” Ebony whimpered.
“He’s not here right now, sweetheart. He and your other dad are getting dolled up for their big day.” Anakin spoke calmly and rested a hand on her shoulder.
“U-Uncle Ani?” Ebony looked up at her uncle and breathed shakily. “I-in my bag….on my chair….my penguin plush dad got me….please….”
Anakin nodded and stood up, heading over to the bag. He reached in and pulled out a small, well loved, penguin plush. He brought it over to Ebony and handed it to her. “Here you go.”
Ebony took it and held it close. Anakin took a seat beside her and she scooted closer and cuddled up to him.
“I’ve got you, EB, your Uncle Ani is here.” Anakin gently hugged her.
Wonder instantly fizzled. His mind went blank, and he couldn’t think of words to say. Guilt and panic filled him.
What the heck did he do?!? He knew Ebony was Autistic, he had aspburgers! Or whatever they called it this week! He could only handle his family because they were family! Wait, was he supposed to go here ALONE?!? But he didn’t like social events alone! But he loved all his mates! How could he pick one? Well, Marble might veto due to god stuff anyway, but!!! Rose and Acryoa?!? He loved them both, what was… WHAT ABOUT HIS KIDS?!? Sakura wanted a wedding forever! She loved romance stuff! Izuku just wanted to meet more kids his age! But it was overload overload…
Realizing his husband was in full-on panic, Acryoa quickly zipped over. He said, “MASTER.”
With that hated term, Wonder jolted out of it. “I told you…”
“Go to Rose and Blood. Let me talk to Mister Jin.”
Wonder said, “But I messed up! Badly!!!”
Acryoa said softly, “You meant no harm. Go to Rose…”
Sakura started to cry. She thought it was HER fault Ebony ran. Lightwraiths were a feared species on her world, due to their warrior-like nature, so she had scared off many despite being a sweet lil’ thing.
Wonder ran off, quickly working to calm his baby girl and assure her it was all right. While the family calmed Sakura down, Acryoa returned to Qui-Gon. “I apologize. I do not know if you realize, but Wonder has what you call…”
He did a search on his tablet. “Neurodivergence. He is a bit milder than what you’re probably used to seeing, but certain situations can cause a shutdown. Please, tell me what you just told him.”
Qui-Gon also filled with an insane amount of guilt. Though he held it together long enough to speak to Acryoa. He sighed softly. “When Obi-Wan and I made out the invites for this wedding, we sent one to Wonder. We were only expecting him to show up, we had no idea he would bring his whole family with him.”
He teared up but then choked it back. “I-I wasn’t trying to be rude…but the thing is….Obi-Wan and Ebony, and I…we don’t know Wonders family. We’ve never formally met them before. We only know them through photos he’s showed us. This wedding was supposed to be small, with only close family and friends attending. And….and I didn’t want to say anything to Wonder…but….we aren’t that close to Wonder’s family.”
Tears welled up again, only this time he couldn’t fight them back. They began trickling down his face. He also got all choked up. “I…I’m sorry….I feel t-terrible.”
Acryoa rubbed his arm. “Hey. Breathe. It’s not your fault. Apparently, there are a lot of misunderstandings going on.”
He sighed. “Qui-Gon, let me talk to them. Will it be okay if only one member joins? Wonder does not handle social events like this well alone. He needs at least one person to help him walk through when he freezes. The others, we’ll… figure something out.”
He highly doubted he’d be the one. It would probably be Rose, honestly. Rose was the social smarts, and the longest marriage of the group. Acryoa was the business sense, and Blood… they were still unsure how to describe him. The kids would be disappointed, but they would understand. And it was unlikely Sakura would want to stick around now…
Qui-Gon nodded. “Yes….Yes that’s fine.”
Anakin returned to his wife and kids and took noticed of Qui-Gon. He then looked at the twins. “I’m going to go check on Grandpa Qui-Gon, okay? Would one of you mind keeping Ebony company for a while? She’s in the reception hall.”
“I will!” Luke replied.
“I’ll stay with mom and the others.” Leia said.
Anakin nodded and went to check on Qui-Gon.
Luke went into the reception hall and saw Ebony sitting in a chair, cuddling her stuffed penguin. He walked over and took a seat in the chair beside her. “Hey, Ebony. How are you doing?”
“C-Cousin Luke! Um….I can explained!” Ebony tried to hide her penguin under the table.
“Easy, it’s alright. You don’t need to hide your penguin from me. I know it’s your comfort item.” Luke replied and then smiled softly. “I didn’t bring it with me, but I still sleep with my father’s old teddy bear at night.”
Ebony smiled softly. “I-I know exactly what bear you’re talking about! Uncle Anakin had that bear in his chambers at the old Jedi Temple for years! Auntie Ahsoka told me he used to stick a photo of Auntie Padme on it and practice flirting with it!”
Luke snorted and laughed. “Yeah! That sounds like my dad alright!”
Acryoa went to talk to the Hydes. Soon, most of the crew left. It was only Wonder and Rose.
Hattress looked around and sighed. “Dabs… do you wonder sometimes if we attract an odd crowd?”
Dabs looked at her with a silent expression. “Like for like, dear.”
Hattress giggled. “Fair. Come on, I was gonna fix the cake.”
Qui-Gon calmed down and he and Anakin headed back over.
A few minutes later, Ahsoka arrived with her Padawan, Elliot.
“Hattress! Dabs! It’s been a while!” Ahsoka smiled and waved. Then she saw Miracle and cooed. “Oh my goodness! Is that Miracle? She’s so big now!”
Elliot remained silent. He was really shy.
Hattress said, “Totally! Congrats on the promotion!”
Miracle ran over. “Cuz Ahsoha!” She giggled and hugged Ahsoka’s legs.
Used to dealing with Esteban, Dabs nodded at Elliot. He didn’t approach, and his voice was its usual, calm self as he said, “hey, kiddo.”
“Thank you!” Ahsoka smiled and then knelt down and gently hugged Miracle. “Hi Miracle! Look at you! You’ve gotten so big since the last time I saw you!”
Elliot waved shyly. “H-Hello. I-I’m Elliott. It-It’s nice to meet you.”
Miracle giggles. “Me big girl!”
Hattress tipped her hat. “Nice to meet you, Elliot. I’m Hattress.”
“Yes you are!” Ahsoka giggled.
She then stood up and turned to Elliott and the others.
“I don’t think you’ve formally met my Padawan yet. This is Elliott!” Ahsoka smiled.
“So this is your Padawan, Snips? The one you showed us over video chat back when we were in Lumios?” Anakin walked over.
“Yep! He sure is!” Ahsoka smiled proudly.
Elliott froze and widened his eyes at Anakin. He had only heard about Anakin through the other Padawans in his group. But he had never met him in person before. Anakin was basically a legend to him and the other kids.
“You…You’re Anakin Skywalker!” Elliott gasped and then turned to Ahsoka. “How…How do you know him, Master?”
“Oh? Didn’t I tell you? Anakin was my master back when I was a Padawan.” Ahsoka replied.
“Heh, yep! I did!” Anakin smiled. “Nice to meet you, Elliott.”
Miracle waddled over and opened her arms. “Me Miracle! Hug!”
“That’s Hattress and Dab’s daughter, Miracle.” Ahsoka smiled.
“Hi sweetie!” Elliott smiled and knelt down, gently hugging her. “You’re so adorable!”
After a moment he broke the hug and smiled at Hattress and Dabs. “Your kid is super cute! You’re very lucky to have her.”
Hattress and Dabs both smiled. Miracle hugged back, giggling. Hattress said, “There’s a reason her name is Miracle.”
“Awww!” Elliott smiled.
“So, Ahsoka, how’s it going training your very first Padawan?” Anakin asked.
“Good.” Ahsoka smiled, but then sighed softly and frowned. “Though it has been stressful at times. Elliott is a brilliant young man, but he’s a slow learner. He’s much further behind the other Padawans his age.”
She sighed sadly. “Sometimes I worry I’m not a good enough master for him. That he deserves better than me.”
“Snips….” Anakin frowned.
Dabs said, “Come on, Sn… sorry, old habit about to kick in. ‘Soka, you’ve been with us through some crazy scrap. And remember the Wonderland Training stunt my wife pulled on years ago? She gave you an environment, but you were the one who trained all those crazy kids. You can handle on Padawan easily after those lil’ dummies.”
Miracle giggled. “Me smart!”
Dabs said, “Yes you are~.” He looked at Ahsoka, but Miracle cut in, “Auntie Soka smart!”
“Awwwwwwwwww! Miracle!” Ahsoka cooed. “Thank you! You’re such a little sweetheart!”
“Dabs is right, Ahsoka. I too, have seen what you are capable of. You are powerful and wise and I am very proud of you. I know you will be an amazing teacher to Elliott, I believe in you.” Anakin smiled.
Ahsoka smiled warmly. “Thank you. I…I really needed to hear that.”
Miracle hugged her. “Big hug for smiles!”
Hattress giggles.
Ahsoka hugged her back.
An hour later, Obi-Wan arrived. He was wearing a very nice looking tuxedo and a bow tie on his neck. He had just gotten his hair done, it was styled like a mullet and it was extra fluffy and soft looking. He looked very handsome.
“Hey Obi-Wan!” Anakin smiled and waved. “Look at you! You look amazing!”
“Hehe, thank you!” Obi-Wan smiled but then frowned and shivered.
“Are you alright?” Anakin frowned and walked up to him.
“Y-Yeah….I’m just really nervous. This is a really big day for me and Mason.” Obi-Wan shivered and teared up. “I-I’ve been feeling really anxious all day.”
Hattress said, “Deep breaths, Obi-Wan. It’s gonna be all right.”
She shuffled up. “Between you and me, when Dabs and I got married, I was so worried, I turned into a literal puddle of wet clay.”
She smiled. “And look at us now! We couldn’t be happier.”
She rubbed his back. “And I’m sure that will be the same for you and Mace.”
“Yeah, everything will be alright. You’ll see.” Anakin smiled softly.
Obi-Wan breathed deeply and then smiled softly. “Yes, perhaps you are right.”
Suddenly the wedding music began to play, signaling it was time for the wedding to begin.
“Oh! Looks like it’s time!” Anakin smiled.
Hattress and the others quickly went in and took their spots.
Anakin and the others took their spots as well.
Moments later, beautiful wedding music starts to play. Since Anakin was Obi-Wan’s best man, he stood off to the side up front. He looked over at Mace and smiled at him. He was very happy for Mason and Obi-Wan.
Luke came down the aisle first. He was the ring barer. Then he stood off to the side next to his father, Anakin. Then Mace Windu, and Master Yoda came down the isle. They were chosen by Obi-Wan and Mason to be groomsmen.
Then Ebony walked down the aisle. She was the flower girl. Behind her was Obi-Wan, who was being escorted down the isle by Qui-Gon Jinn.
Everyone watched in anticipation. Mace straightened up, smiling at his soon-to-be husband.
Once Obi-Wan reached the end of the isle he stood by his soon to be husband, Mason. A pastor walked up and began speaking.
“We are gathered here today to witness the marriage of these two young men.” The pastor began. Then he turned to Obi-Wan. “Obi-Wan Kenobi, do promise to be with Mason for better and worse, through sickness and health, and do you take him to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
Obi-Wan nodded and smiled lovingly at Mason. “I do.”
The pastor then turned to Mason. “And Mason, do you promise to be with Obi-Wan for better and worse, through sickness and health, and do you take him to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
Mace smiled. “I do.”
“Then you may now kiss!” The pastor smiled.
Obi-Wan smiled lovingly at Mace and gently pulled him close. Then he kissed him passionately on the lips.
Anakin and the others smiled and clapped.
Once they broke the kiss, the wedding music played again and Obi-Wan walked down the isle arm in arm with Mason. Everyone cheered as they walked.
“We will now head to the reception hall for the wedding party!” Everyone please walk single file out the doors and head left to room at the end of the long hallway.” The pastor called out.
Everyone got in line and made their way out the door. Ebony tried to get to the front to be with her dads, but unfortunately she was pushed to the very back of the line. She sighed softly and watched as Obi-Wan and Mace left the room. She hadn’t seen them all day long and she missed them a lot. As she slowly followed the line out, a thought crossed her mind. After this was the reception. Obi-Wan and Mace would be seated together at a table at the the very front with only enough room for the two of them. Then they’d share a dance together. Then they’d probably spend time with their friends and eat dinner and cut the cake. Would she get to see her dads at all today?
“D…Dads….” Ebony teared up and whimpered.
Mace told Obi-Wan, “Ebony was looking a little pale. I’m going to check on her and make sure she’s all right.”
Wonder saw how crowded that line looked, so continued to sit for the moment. He saw Ebony, and quickly went over. “Ebony…?”
Rose said, “You okay, Miss Won?”
Obi-Wan grew worried and went to check on her as well. “Ebony, sweetheart? What’s wrong?”
Ebony was silent for a moment, then tears started flowing down her face.
“I…I haven’t seen either of you for almost a week. Everyone’s been so busy preparing for the wedding and…and it’s been so hectic and overwhelming and….and….I missed my dads so much!” Ebony began crying.
Obi-Wan frowned and gently pulled her into a hug. “I knew I sensed someone in distress all last week. Why didn’t you say anything to us?”
“I…I didn’t want to be a burden.” Ebony sniffled.
Mace knelt by her. “Honey, you’re not a burden. If you need either of us, you can come to us. Okay?”
“Exactly. You will never be a burden to either of us. You’re our daughter and we love you very much. You are always welcome to come to us if you need us.” Obi-Wan hugged her close.
Ebony nodded and hugged him back.
Once Ebony calmed down they broke the hug.
“Now why don’t we head to the reception hall?” Obi-Wan smiled softly.
Mace nodded. “Let’s.”
Once they saw everything was clear, Wonder and Rose headed for the reception as well.
The reception hall was beautifully decorated and there were enough tables for everyone to sit at. Each table was reserved for each family. Wonder and Rode had been placed at Hattress and Dabs table since they were basically family to them.
There was a table for Anakin and his family, and at the front, there was a table for Obi-Wan, Mason, and Qui-Gon and Ebony.
“I…I get to sit with you guys at the front?” Ebony widened her eyes.
“Of course! You are our daughter after all!” Obi-Wan smiled and gently tussled her hair.
Ebony smiled and giggled.
Ahsoka was placed at the table with Anakin and his family. She headed to the table, only to realized her Padawan, Elliott wasn’t following her. She turned around and saw him standing off to the side awkwardly.
“Elliott, come have a seat. There’s a spot at this table for you too.” Ahsoka said.
“Th-There is? But…But I’m not part of Anakin’s family.” Elliott looked down and held his arm. He was trembling a little too. “You-You’re like a sister to him, Master. But me? I….I’m just a nobody to him.”
Anakin frowned and stood up. He walked up to Elliott. “Elliott, buddy , you aren’t a nobody to me.”
“I’m not?” Elliott looked up at him.
“Listen, the moment Ahsoka accepted you as her padawan, you became a part of the family.” Anakin rested a hand on his shoulder.
“Really? But if my master is your sister, then what does that make me?” Elliott replied.
“A nephew! And you’d be our cousin!” Luke smiled as he walked past them to the table.
“Exactly!” Anakin chuckled and smiled. “You’d be my nephew! And I’m sure Luke would appreciate having another guy his age to talk to!”
Elliott chuckled.
The Mad family smiled at each at the scene. Dabs put Miracle in her seat, before the adults sat. Wonder sat in the seat closest to the exit just in case of overload. Rose sat by him, of course. Miracle sat by him, giggling. Hattress and Dabs sat by them.
Mace smiled at his daughter and husband. He sat down at his seat.
He then saw someone hovering by the entrance. A young trans woman, with some strangely familiar burn scars on her arms, and her hair half dyed red. She seemed scared and lost, though her dress was appropriate for a wedding. What the…?
Mace waved at Qui-Gon. He mouthed, “Someone may need to talk to her.”
Qui-Gon nodded and walked over to Dabs. “Dabs, would you go speak to that young woman at the entrance? For some reason she’s giving me similar vibes to you. Maybe she’d be the least scared of you.”
A few seconds later, another young man showed up. He was wearing a tux and had brown short but wavy hair. He grinned and walked towards Anakin’s table.
“Han!” Leia smiled and ran up to him.
“Leia! How’s the most beautiful girl in the world?” Han smiled and hugged her back.
“I’m great! Especially now that you’re here!” Leia smiled lovingly at him.
Luke sighed and looked down sadly. He’d forgotten Leia had invited her boyfriend to the wedding. Luke had nothing against Han. He seemed like a nice guy, and he treated Leia right. But whenever Han was around, Luke felt invisible. He tried on multiple occasions to befriend Han, but the two of them just didn’t click.
Dabs looked up. He gave a nod. “Sure thing.”
He kisses Hattress and walks over. “Miss? You lost?”
The woman looked at him with blue eyes. Fear gets replaced by hope. “Toya?”
Dabs pales. He hadn’t heard that name in ages. “How do you know that name?!?”
