at first i thought everyone was overreacting but i’m actually becoming genuinely concerned for gen alpha’s media literacy

i made a video talking about how the backrooms movie is an analysis of late stage capitalism. i explained that this was not directly canon and is instead insinuated in subtext. i provided ample evidence and once again explained that this was just my take on it.

the number of people saying “um, that’s not in the movie?” or “actually, in the movie it’s explained that…”

do schools still do socratic seminars? i’m shocked by how many people do not understand that i’m interpreting. they’re taking me literally — they don’t understand the difference between watching something and analyzing something. and that is concerning.
