Mammal in a Sunday Dress, by Georgina M. Cox, 2026
my two moods these days
Me: okay I am done talking about this thing that's upsetting me. Bye.
*literally two seconds later*: AND ANOTHER THING
how it feels to be stressed out almost 100% of the time
I can’t play the game rn but I gotta know, is the scene where you flirt with Wayne and it mentions his heart beat racing and him doing like a nervous gasp also cut?? I’ll be genuinely devastated if so it was one of my fav scenes of his
You mean this one?
Yup. Gone. Completely. Now the dialogues and interactions between Entity!Wayne and Entity!Isaacs are roughly the same, with some exceptions to accommodate the whole Isaacs situation, and Entity!Wayne has some extra narration about your body still remembering the pleasure you felt with him... while still being afraid, regardless of your relationship with him until now. So yeah, the update "expanded" dialogue with Wayne (it gave you slightly more time to talk to him before Bounty fucks up your ability to carry a proper civil conversation), but also took away basically all sweet/positive interactions, and even negative ones too, like this one:
If you're Waynemancing or just likes Wayne in general, update was kinda trash for him.
Going to look into restoring at least some of these interactions. (No promises!)
Our approach to expanding the farms introduction was redoing most of those scenes from scratch, since that whole sequence is a very messy patchwork of complicated logic and we wanted to focus on scene flow. But this means some things that we didn't realize were lost in the shuffle got cut. (Will also see about restoring "No can do, Tabarooni" and "I yearn for adventure, Joan") With Wayne in particular, some of this might not be possible to restore, since a large part of this restructuring was about stretching out the stone's influence on the player (vs the original scenario where Wayne pretty much immediately shoves you towards the house.) So a lot of his interactions now take place in a different context than the original scene.
Can I ask why there was no option to torture Rafael at the end of book one to get info out of him? I understand someone like Hadrian might've objected and the idea ultimately fallen through but it seemed weird for no one in a group of mercenaries to even propose doing that. Our Romanus included since they can be ruthless
Because you didn't need to. Rafael was, quite literally, spilling the beans. He has no allegiance to the Theers; he was betrayed and stabbed by one of their agents. Borja was upfront from the beginning to the end of the interrogation.
Alessa was more than willing to use torture if needed, as was Lance and, if you'd like, Romanus as well, but there just wasn't a reason to. Torture would only make Rafael talk less — because it's hard to speak when you're howling in pain, after all.
I think weird is wanting to torture someone who's willingly giving you information? Especially someone who you'll need in the days to come to get the maps back.
it’s never a normal temperature anymore it’s always some fucking bullshit
The recent hot VS cold polls have made me realise that a lot of people have no idea how to cool down.
As someone from a hot country that's regularly on fire, here's some tips:
WATER IS YOUR FRIEND! WATER! IS! YOUR! FRIEND! You can transfer SO much heat into this bad boy! You cannot cool down without water!
Wrists under the cold tap. Splash your face and the back of your neck. Fan yourself.
In some countries you can buy a little handeld fan with a water sprayer.
Damp tea towel around the neck. Stick an ice pack in there on hotter days.
Half fill a water bottle with water, stick in freezer. If you use a bottle with a straw, make sure it's lying on its side with the straw side up and out of the water. When frozen top up the rest of the way with tap water and off you go.
Desperate to cool off? Wet T-shirt. Sit in front of a fan. This will nuke it, just don't get hypothermia and don't fall asleep like this.
Cold showers are also your friend in summer. Some people get psyched up by these. Personally, I sleep like a baby, so I'm good to have them before bed. Just keep in mind that it takes a bit of time for the cool to circulate, so your body will tell you that you're colder than you actually are. I find that when I have cold showers I need to step out of the spray when I think I'm cold... I'll just wait, and thirty seconds later the temperature has evened out and I actually need to step under again. Rinse and repeat until you maintain coolness even after stepping out for a bit.
If you can't do cold showers, turn the cold shower on anyway and just stick your arms under. When they're cold, lift your arms up above your head. The sensation of cool blood draining into your body is fucking weird and kinda unpleasant but less unpleasant than being hot.
Feet in a tub of water with ice. Blood naturally flows to your extremities when hot, so take advantage of this. If you don't have a tub of ice water, sticking a wet rag on your feet in front of the fan works too, it's the less powerful version of the wet T-shirt.
Drinks lots of water but make sure that water has electrolytes as well. Stay in the shade.
Keep air circulating. Fans don't actually cool rooms down, they just help transfer heat from your body to the moisture on your skin or the air via evaporative cooling.
Block north facing windows early in the morning so the sun doesn't get in. If you're in the northern hemisphere, this is opposite for you. Keep in mind that if your home is brick, the bricks will still heat up and slowly release heat into your home even after the sun goes down so this will only do so much.
If it's hotter inside than outside, close all your windows but two, making sure they're on opposite sides of the house/unit you're in. Point a fan out of one window, making sure that the doors between the rooms with the open windows are all open. This will help create a mini pressure system in your home, pulling cooler air in and pushing the hotter air out via the fan. Bonus points if you can get that fan high up where the hot air rises; even within a single room the top is much hotter than the air by the floor. Adjust the amount of open windows based on how many fans you have, but generally you want more windows with fans open than windows without fans to keep the pressure correct.
Obviously, use your common sense for these. Not everything WILL work for you, just use the stuff that does and adjust what needs to be adjusted. Some of these will be impossible to use in the workplace but others you can still use. Others are best used at home. If humidity impacts your ability to use any of these, get a dehumidifier if that's an option, or use more ice instead of evaporation.
Also keep in mind that the skinnier you are, the faster these will work. More fat means more insulation, means more heat, so you may need to be more patient with some of these or use them in combination.
Bringing this back for my dying mutuals
he's REAL????
I bought the first book recently and loved loved loved it!! Author I hope your pillow is cold, your internet connection is fast, and the sun shines on you the exact amount you want it to 🌞. Excuse me for cramming into your undoubtedly already crammed inbox, I just want to ramble for a bit: I played a merciful, genuine MC with a sense of humor (like, she will always be kind but also loooves to pull out the occasional quip which balances out her genuine/sarcastic meter pretty well). However, she tends to (pretend to) align herself with the most powerful side when she’s cornered (high influence stat used as a defense mechanism you see), which is why she found herself in the extremely regrettable position of having favor with a ruthless guard captain (nooo Beka I’m sorry!!!). She is very very weak for pretty ladies, as she currently has the highest possible romance indicators for Alessa, Ysabella, and Neia (help me 💀), even as she’s actively romancing Alessa and not planning to be disloyal. She flirted with Ysabella at the inn, not thinking anything of it, then as it got more serious with Alessa she just treated Bella as a good (but very pretty!) friend. But idk if Bella got the hint 😭😭😭. Then she was faced with an unstoppable force (Neia) and an immovable object (also Neia) and chose the secret third option (flirt with scary hot lady) and it WORKED 😭 in conclusion I’m going to make other MCs for these ladies they’re so 🤭 anyways THANK YOU FOR YOUR WRITING
I am so glad someone took Cynthia's side, because I need Cynthia's route to be read by at least one person. Don't feel bad for Beka; she has many people on her corner.
And anon, I love this ask so much xD One thing I've noticed is that a lot of my readers find themselves weak for pretty ladies — especially my w|w readers. 😆 So your plight is shared by many. I always smile when someone is both scared and intrigued by Neia ehehe.
I hope you have fun making other Romanus for Ysabella and Neia as much as you like your Alessa-loving one. 💛
