People outside Gaza think that the war against us is over, and that we are living in peace and tranquility, but they do not know that the war is still ongoing.
The bombing, death, hunger, and displacement do not stop for a single moment. What has actually stopped is the world's interest, questions, and follow-up. We do not know if they have grown tired of us and become accustomed to our tragedy, or if the media has deceived them and contributed to misleading them!
Be the alternative media, do not forget Gaza, do not get tired of it, and do not stop talking about it, for whoever does not care about the affairs of people is not one of them!!
Don't overthink helping families in Gaza; participation makes a difference in their lives, and donating makes a big difference.
Here are some families from Gaza who need help.
Help Mahmoud's family from here
Help Karim's family from here
My friends Mahmoud and Mahrah are siblings from Gaza. I have been friends with Mahrah since early 2025. She introduced me to her brother later that year, and I introduced both of them to my wife. We have a group chat together. My wife (@cannilyuncanny) now hosts their family's fundraiser (vetted by 90-ghost and shared by fairuzfan) and wires transfers of donations directly to Mahrah.
I am texting with Mahmoud right now as I write this, and I want to assure anyone who needs the assurance that @freepaleatine955 is the shared blog of Mahmoud and Mahrah. They previously posted from palestinian95, and before that from mahrahpalestine. Recently, tumblr staff have been aggressively targeting Palestinian blogs and deleting them. Many people are having to recreate blogs and rebuild their networks.
Please share widely so others can find them!
personally I am of the opinion that vegans who are like “the way our food system currently works under capitalism on a large scale is exceptionally cruel to all animals including humans and is not sustainable, so I’m doing what I can to make the most ethical choices available to me about what I eat and encourage others to do the same” are generally very reasonable people who I agree with in spades. but vegans who seem to think human beings are not themselves animals who are ultimately also part of the food chain but instead some kind of other paternalistic higher entity that can never engage in ethical and sustainable hunting practices (and especially the fringe I’ve seen who think other carnivorous animal predators are also evil and need to be eliminated) are people I regard as foolish at best if not actively anti-indigenous and racist
Everyone say thank you sanitation workers we owe you our lives sanitation workers
Israel systematically targets the health of pregnant mothers and infants in Gaza. This is a reality every parent in Gaza knows. It has also been confirmed repeatedly by others. Pediatric healthcare professionals in Gaza have been bravely speaking out about how Israel is currently using restrictions of formula into Gaza to torture and kill Palestinian babies.
My friend Nader recently became an uncle to his newborn baby niece, Masa. Due to the traumatic stress and malnutrition experienced under genocidal conditions, many mothers cannot produce breast-milk. Masa, like tens of thousands of other babies in Gaza, relies on formula to survive. Today, Nader told me that this little girl is in the hospital now due to a severe chest infection. She is only 8 days old. Please help her.
I woke up today to the tears of my brother's wife, the mother of little Masa, who is suffering from a severe chest infection and is currently in the hospital under medical care. We implore you, friends, to help us get out of this situation and donate to buy milk and other necessary baby supplies for this child so we can leave Gaza. Please don't hesitate to donate.
Nader's fundraising is vetted (gazavetters #4) and supports his large family of nine people, including small children of which little Masa is the youngest. Israel's systematic targeting of children means that the price of formula, diapers, medicine, and other basic supplies are extremely expensive. Please help him raise the funds needed to help innocent Masa survive genocidal conditions.
how to explain to these “everyone knows soda has no nutritional value” people that soda has literally kept me alive as a chronically ill cancer patient in recovery from anorexia nervosa. soda is accessible, digestible, helps w my nausea, helps me get solid food down, boosts my blood sugar when i need it, and is also–get a load of this–a significant source of pleasure in a body whose most salient experiences are discomfort and suffering.
if soda were all i could access? at an overpriced corner store? that’s a serious issue, and a gross injustice. i have been food insecure. i study food insecurity. i feel the weight of this.
but stop pretending that your arbitrary food morality (where it’s food itself that is intrinsically “good” or “bad,” “healthy” or “junk,” according to… you) is a step toward food justice. it’s not; you’re not increasing the autonomy or access of people who are cut off from a healthy variety of foods that align with their needs and values. you’re not improving systems of food production or distribution or the fundamental injustice of arranging these things for profit rather than according to need. you’re only stigmatizing people who do eat those foods to meet their needs, under varying and complex configurations of constraint and choice.
It's spring now which means the kids in my city have started drawing hopscotches on the sidewalk and as a rule I do every hopscotch I see because 1. Use it or lose it (ability to scotch) and 2. If a child got down on the hardscrabble streets of Boston Massachusetts to draw a scotch the least I can do is use it, but in doing the hopscotches, I've learned that about 50% of them are the typical 8-10 step scotch and the other 50% are. Somewhat avant-garde. And of course I'm not vetting the entire scotch before I start it so sometimes it's like haha 8 steps woo! Childlike whimsy! And sometimes they're 20 steps or 30 or they've got a section with three squares instead of two where you have to do a little Charleston to step on all three, or, memorably, FORTY one foot squares. A full BLOCK of jumping on one foot but I'm no quitter so once I've started Jigsaw Junior's fuckin hopscotch gauntlet I'm there til the end just a daily pot smoker in her thirties jumping kasa-obake style through an affluent suburb while some little proto-kennedy watches from his bedroom window rubbing his sadistic little third grade hands together and cackling. It's amazing. I love spring.
one time we were listening to fleetwood mac in the car and my sister who was probably 4 at the time asked, without being prompted, “can girls marry girls?” and THAT is the power of stevie nicks

number one thing i want for public bathrooms is for them to be unisex accessible safe private and clean. number two thing i want for pubic bathrooms is for them to have flat surfaces in the stalls you can put your handheld items down on when youre shittin. ive encountered it in like two bathrooms ever and it changed my life for real.
