The name's Barton, but everyone calls me Hawkeye. I'm about eighteen, I led the Scavengers from the time I was about twelve... AND I helped kick Ultron's ass for good. Now it's cleanup time... or it was. Torun and I were on our way back from clearing out a cell of leftover Ultrabots when a blast had me crashing through a window... into a livingroom in the past that belongs to my Dad, if he'd never become an Avenger. I had to get back home, my Team needed me. But it was kinda nice to see him again. I never really got to say goodbye.
When I went home, Torun kissed me goodbye. Told me to try living life for a change instead of fighting for it. The clean up was done by the time I got home, and. . . Everyone had moved on.
Even my goddess girlfriend.
So I came back to live with the man who could have been my father - and let me tell ya something. Finding my feet here is the hardest thing I've ever done.

So when Coop, Lila, and Nate all get a bit older, and less tiny child, Clint asks each of them if theyâd like to be like their dad, and be agents, or if theyâd like to do something else, no judgement, no âbut you should totally be an agentâ kinda thing, just whatever they wanna do, Clint will support them in. Overwhelmingly, they all wanna be agents. And they all wanna be Hawkeye. Clint explains about Aunty Kate, and how theyâre Hawkeye Squared. It can totally be Hawkeye to the fifth, if theyâre ok with that. The name does not discriminate. But the love of eye-searing purple is a must.
"Then they're still back home doing what we're not, right now."
"My bet? They're doing all kinds of damage control, or whatever, and we should look at this as splitting up to get the job done." Â He looked at James a long moment. Â "So, we get the job done. Â How do I keep letting you turn this conversation serious?"
She nuzzled his chest for a second before smiling at his question, âI donât know. I know theyâll let us feed the giraffes though.â She told him. âBut we should see. Maybe even try to pet them!â She loved Elephants so much. It wasnât a secret.Â
Darcy loved the zoo. It was filled with amazing animals. And baby elephants. She loved baby elephants. She loved any animal that was a baby, honestly. She just loved animals in general. She walked around with Denis, Skylar, baby Skye, and Francis with a smile on her face. She was happy to just be with them, but being with them at the zoo just made her feel like everything was okay. It was weird, but she didnât question it. Sheâd have to thank Clint a million times over for sending them.Â
She leaned into her boyfriend after they had all split up and smiled at him, âElephants?â
"Sure," he replied, giving her a smile and keeping an arm tucked around her. Â He didn't say that he was pretty sure Denis was going to try and get into the wolves pen, and figured Sky could probably handle it.
"You think they'll let us feed 'em?" he wondered, which was a thought he had about anything they'd visited after the petting zoo. Â Unlike the others, he hadn't really had a normal childhood - this was ALL new to him.
"Fine, if you really donât want to talk about it."
"As far as I know, itâs just meâand you apparently.â
He still didnât understand how heâd gotten here, but there was no way he wasnât going to try and find out. James had friends to find, and he wouldnât stop until he did.Â
"Figures it's us who gotta-" he shifted gears. Â "Hey, I bet we could hack into a database and get a facial recog going to find out if the others are here."
Francis grinned, dancing with her slightly less crazily, kinda forgetting that they're sharing an apartment with her brother, and their 'landlord' could wander in at any point.
Denis went with Skylar and baby Skye off to look at the monkeys and wolves, (ostensibly to give Francis and Darcy a bit of alone time before they could all meet up again for a late lunch).
That morning had been... weird. Â Clint had come knocking on the door of their apartment, before letting himself in, and saying something about how he just found out it was Phil's birthday, and they needed to go somewhere because he couldn't think of a present. Â Apparently Sky agreed that them all going off premesis was for the best for everyone - something Francis wasn't willing to look at too closely - and it was only another hour before the five of them were at the Zoo. Â They stuck together for a little while... and now they'd split up a bit.
Francis slid his arm around Darcy's waist and looked down at her with a grin. Â "Where to, Gorgeous?"
Darcy smirked, âDepends on what youâre shooting, dear.â She couldnât help it. She let him spin her then made herself land with her hands on his chest. âLove you.âÂ
