Thought I'd kind of run with this. Clint passes on the name of Hawkeye to Kate in his own subtle way.
Kate Bishop is 9 years old when she is recruited by Clint Barton, the two do a few missions together and she really likes working with him. They are sitting on the roof of Shield when Coulsen comes up and says, "Hawkeye, report!" Clint gets up, while Kate looks on.
A few years later, she is 12, Kate is kind of used to being called the Hawkeye like Clint. They are sitting at a cafe in New York when Steve Rogers walks up to them, "Hawkeye!" He calls out, both of them turn, Clint scowls while Kate grins. He still prefers being referred to as Hawkeye.
4 years later, Kate is 16, her and Clint are on a mission, bullets and grenades whistling and exploding everywhere. The walkie talkie crackles and says "Hawkeye, you are required at detention block A!" Kate starts to jog away but Clunt runs past her so she just waits there.
5 years later she is 21, Clint and her are sitting on the roof of Stark tower just talking about different things. Clint is clad in his Ronin suit, the bow still strapped to his back. Nick Fury walks up, "Hawkeye, a word?" Kate automatically gets up, as she is about to walk forward she stops and looks back at Clint, he is still sitting there, then she realizes, Hawkeye has passed on the arrow. Tears fill her eyes briefly, then she looks back up at Fury who hands her a file, the wind blows, lifting her hair. She suddenly glances back, the former archer is gone, in his place is his bow and quiver. Kate understands, its Clint's way of saying "it's yours now". And she smiles, whispering, "Thank you." To the wind, knowing he'll hear it.
