Β Β woah ! looks like hayden briar is here. a child of persephone, apparently they got here 1 month ago. theyβre 18 and i heard theyβre very +curious and +enthusiastic, but can also be pretty -stubborn and -defensive. theyβre staying at olympus university and can usually be seen at demeterβs abandoned arboretum, but who knows what trouble theyβll brew on their time off.
Hayden Briar always lived with his father in the countryside of Texas. He often helped him with his farm and garden, which were quite known around the place for how delicious the crops would turn out to be and how beautiful the garden was to any visitor, although he felt much more calm staying at the latter and appreciating the way plants grew at their own pace thanks to him. This place wasn't a large city, or had the largest spaces available to him. However, it only made him long for more each time he would see the outside world on television, or simply read about all sort of places and people on books. It is not that he wasn't satisfied with his life, it was simply a blossoming desire to experience all kind of situations, see all kind of places in the world that wasn't home.
His father, Jackson Briar, never understood his son's wish to see it all, he always insisted that the place they lived in was enough and Hayden was underestimating it, but the boy truly was adventurous at heart. His wish kept him going, as he saved every penny he got from helping his father at the farm to one day reach his goal.
However, not everything went as he would have wanted, as his 18th birthday was completely ruined once his father told him the truth. The reason why he never wanted him to leave the town is because he was a son of Persephone, and wise, malicious people could put him in danger due to his nature. He didn't want Hayden to become a guinea pig. It is why he wanted a tranquil life for his son.
Hayden saw his life turned upside down when his plans were completely crushed. Too much information was being handed to him all at once and he felt like he couldnβt grasp the idea. He was told that he would go to Olympus if he was to go to college and stay there for his safety. Of course, this was not taken so positively by the male, who to this day struggles to adapt himself to the situation and longs to go to larger cities. He canβt even understand how people seem so content and fulfilled living in such a retired area, where he seriously feels limited.
Today, he is still struggling with his nature and might be using his passion for books for what he should not, as heβs been checking some of them at the local library in hope he could find something, any clue that would get him closer to freedom. Being a demigod is not something to be proud of in his mind, itβs a mere limitation to his liberty and he hopes to get rid of that part of him so eagerly. With such a curious yet naive mindset, itβs quite probable that he could be easily manipulated if he falls in the wrong hands, as he would do anything in order to find any kind of potion, a cure for this side of him that he never asked for. It is why he is often seen at Demeterβs Abandoned Arboretum, as not only does he like to be reminded of his home with the flowers and vegetation, but he finds himself being lured to that place, as if it had the answer he so seeks.
