Effie busied herself by dusting the furniture in her dining room, that she almost never used. She sat down in one of the chairs and sighed. It had been forever since she had had anyone over at her house. It would be a nice change to invite some friends over, but she wasnât quite ready for that yet. Besides, the only people she considers as friends now are Katniss, Peeta, and Haymitch.
 She heard a knock on the door and instantly stood up. Effie didnât know who would visit her this early. She assumed that it was probably Peeta. Heâs the only one that bothers checking up on her every now and then, as well as gets up early. She walked to the door quickly, having noticed how much time she had just spent wondering who it was. The Escort took a deep breath, and opened the door. Low and behold, Haymitch was there. She wasnât as surprised that he showed up, but the fact that he did before noon boggled her mind.
Haymitch offers what he intended to be a smile and put his hands in his pockets. "It's early..." He said, somewhat apologetically. After a long pause, he seemed to remember why he was there in the first place, "I had the piano tuned like you asked, so you're welcome to come by any time you please."
