Bots -or any blog that resembles one- will be reported and blocked This has mostly turned into a CR blog-thing... I tag Thursday show until around Tuesday. Also Wheel of Time. So I tag book spoilers (twot book spoilers wot book spoilers) and show spoilers (wot spoilers and wot show spoilers) and (wheel of time spoilers). I tag show spoilers until Tuesday night after a new episode. Hello peoples of Tumblr! This is my blog, which I make no promise to keep up with. I'm a bisexual Autistic. Also have ADD. I like cephalopods, especially cuttlefish, and plants, and reading, and many other geeky things. More random tidbit: feminist, somewhere in the left politically, and tired of the political landscape but still trying to care. More things- gluten free, and crochet, knitting, and others. Beware of my many random posts as well. That is all for now! Oh BTW I am bad at tagging things, (except this I specifically mentioned) trying to get better, but its a work in progress.
The greatest thing about Wick’s “lie” to Yanessa in Episode 28 is that in addition to regaining his place in the family, securing his access to House Halovar’s resources and secrets, and absolving himself and Tyranny of any suspicion, Wicander has also forced his grandmother to once again commit to playing along with Wick’s ardent dedication to the Candescent Creed’s tenants—this time permanently. And it was this steadfast commitment to the Creed’s teachings that made Wick so dangerous to House Halovar’s schemes in the first place.
so we now have three characters whose magical gifts were directly encouraged by thjazi fang. it seems that he really actively wanted non-sorcerers (or non-sundered house sorcerers in azune's case) to tap into magic when they had potential
azune was tutored by murray. while it's unconfirmed whether or not thjazi made that introduction, it seems likely given azune was new to the city and a kid
occtis was encouraged to seek out wizardry by thjazi as a kid
cyd was told that once the plan is settled "i'm going to find a way for us [cyd, thjazi, teor] to explore this" when cyd mentioned his new abilities
we don't know what class thjazi might be built off of. there's been speculation that he's a warlock but i don't think so. NPCs obviously don't rigidly adhere to classes but i think he's likely to have arcane abilities that he taught himself, a la murray or occtis, not pact magic or something innate
the elves in aramán are profoundly fucking sad. they're decaying. their people are completely unable to reproduce and they were created by the goddess of life. that feels like sylandri's real barrowdell. the elves as a dying people without her to sustain them.
Cuttlefish's vision is really neat. This W shape seems to help them perceive the polarization of light, allowing them to see contrast despite not being able to see color. They also have great depth and distance perception, as their brains calculates using input from both eyes
They also don't seem to have blindspots assuming I was reading into them correctly, as the optic nerve is behind the retina and their retinas have two concentrated sensory cells, allowing them to see in front and behind them
Their eyes are also thought to be fully developed before birth! So, you get tiny cuttlefish babies already observing their world from their eggs!
I am no professional here, so if I got something wrong or off, or someone has more to add, feel free to point anything out!
if i were nullus i'd be pissed too when my chud son can't kill the revolution leader correctly and now his soul, the one thing your family can control, rolled behind the couch. or make a celestial out of the 240-months old ingredients son because you decided to wing the recipe. or even eliminate weakest sundered house after already preventing their reinforcements and ambushed them with no warning. the coolest thing you son did was palm someone's skull like a basketball and still failed.
a cute little meta thing i really enjoy is when hal talks to his company, even though they're all NPCs, he is clearly addressing the other players(!!) at the table and they all respond in kind because they ARE his company they ARE his cast and they ARE putting this show together and setting their intentions together
I’ll be honest. Yennessa’s accent has me wondering about some things. I do think that Brennen does consider implications with the accents he chooses for characters. So… I am curious about her background? And also about the Halover’s background. Sure, they were priests before, but so were the Tachonis, it seems like there used to be a lot more Houses around. We’re the Halover’s previously an important House? Or just one of many priestly Houses? And how did Yennessa end up in charge?
I also have to wonder if there are any Houses who cling to belief in Tansul as the elves did? Or did?
Also Brennan: The two major Big Bads are your grandma and grandpa who didn't fight in the Great War themselves but are children of the generation who did
I know that Robbie, Travis, and Ashley have been a little more subtle compared to other players at the table, but the moments when they do show vulnerability and glimpses of their past have been truly so impactful and wonderful to watch.
Teor's scene with his brother and reciting the poem their father used to tell them. Every single scene Vaelus has had with Hannan. Kattigan's cold open with Tyranny exposing the grief he's been dodging around. An absolute masterclass!
