boosting my friend Hazem (@hazemfromgaza)'s campaign again. though he was able to evacuate to egypt in april of last year, he didn't have the funds to bring his family with him, and they've been stuck in gaza ever since. they are 10 people, three of them children; Hazem is their lifeline and they rely on him to be able to get even the most basic of resources, which can cost upwards of £70 per day. Hazem's campaign has been largely stagnant for months now: he passed the £10k milestone in mid september, but has lingered under £12k since then. on top of all this, Hazem is also undergoing grueling treatment for a pituitary brain tumor. among other symptoms, he is suffering from vision loss, which makes it incredibly difficult for him to contend with the volume of promotion maintaining the momentum of the campaign requires. with fundraisers losing traction in just a few days without posts, Hazem is forced to recount his family's plight again and again to a vast and often apathetic online audience instead of being able to rest and focus his energy on recovery. he is afraid of what will happen to his family if he can no longer provide for them.
