Salmon sushi and pearl milk tea. Classic combo 😂. First ever costume and so very last minute. And then we went for an OT shift after that. 💰
This is not okay. A vehicle was tailgating Tai and me on our way to Waterloo. It's a 90km/hr highway and there were only two lanes and it's not like I was that far behind from the car in front of me in the left lane so even if this guy passed me, he wouldn't have gotten far. As soon as a third lane opened up to the right, he cut over to the right, came back to the middle beside us and then proceeded to make squinty eye hand gestures on his face (while not watching the road ahead of him), then drove off giving us the finger. If you really gotta road rage to get ahead by 0.5 seconds, leave the fucking racism out of it. Now his Mercedes just seems like he's overcompensating. Too bad my dash cam wasn't better quality. I would've posted the video. Sigh.

These small moments make life worth it.
2018.03.15 Oops, late post but our engagement photos did come in and I’m super happy with them (minus my makeup). There are more but these kinda capture the essence of our photos. I love the piggyback one… but maybe that’s because it’s in every kdrama haha!! Well worth the frostbite that we endured. I suppose it could have been worse and the weather could’ve been raining ice pellets like the past couple of days.
2018.04.14 Finally finished my week of hell with second semester exams on Friday. Of course, no break for me cuz I had a shift on Saturday but because of the horrible weather, lots of people booked off and I was able to score a shift with Tai! Always a fun and yummy shift with him hehe. But you can tell that I haven't had much sleep. Starting third semester on Monday and already behind haha. What is life?!
Sneak peek at engagement photos! Ahh I'm so excited to see how they turn out. The photographer did an amazing job with this pic considering the very poor lighting that we had while shooting.
Sometimes
There are times when it really hits you how much you can’t live without someone and I didn’t even realize it myself (which is funny cuz I’m marrying the guy soon). In the very beginning when we started dating, I thought that it’s ok...if the relationship doesn’t work out, time can heal. Then it was just so fun being with him and felt so natural being by his side that I forgot about not being with him...completely.
But we got into a little bit of a situation somewhat recently where we did not see eye to eye (I can’t even call it an argument because it was not an argument). Anyways, for the first time, I thought about what a potential break up would be like. 근데 마음이 너무 아팠어. 그 사람밖에 없단 말이야. ㅋㅋ 내가 이렇게 될지도 몰랐네. I’m grateful for my previous relationships because I learned a lot from them as well - what I really want and don’t want in a relationship. Everything is a learning opportunity..even the one where I wish I had amnesia (seriously).
3 years flew by with 95% laughter and love with him. I don’t know where I would be without this guy and I am forever grateful I found my weird other half whom I can share this tumultuous journey of life with. I love you, burr! <3
You’re my everything.
I must say..I died laughing. But a bit of context first..so Tai has been pretty sick this past week, first with a fever and then sore throat/cough so I’ve been babying him a little bit..but he was better today. Also, he pronounces “pour” as “poor” (this is relevant ...somewhat).
There’s a jug of OJ on the table and he asks why I haven’t “poored” him a glass.
Me: Cuz you’re not rich and you don’t have a maid. (making a lame reference to how he pronounced pour..which he’s aware of.)
T: But you’re my maid. You’re my everything.
Smoooooth.
2017.10.07 - 2017.10.09 Fun trip to Algonquin! Of course, it effing rains too. I’m cursed, I tell ya. But it was still fun trying to cultivate little fire-lings with the kindling. Went on one hike out of the whole time we were there… granted we checked in really late on the first day.. only had time to set up a tent and start a fire to try and cook dinner… cuz we stopped by Weber’s on the way and spent time with his parents.. which was super fun actually. Spent the first night freezing.. I think I only got a few hours of sleep at a time. Fun fun. And apparently Tai couldn’t sleep either because he kept hearing rustling and when we were checking in, lady at the counter was telling us there was a bear warning hahah. Thankfully, no bear run ins! Finally by the late morning/afternoon, it stopped raining. Decided to go for a hike after lunch..so off we went to The Lookout trail. On the way, we saw a poor family in an MVC..their car had most likely crashed into the barrier on their side and driver overcompensated cuz the vehicle had ended up almost into the barrier into the oncoming traffic side. Distracted driving! The Lookout trail has some steel incline and clearly, I need to work out more.. cuz my glutes were sore the next day. The trail was pretty packed with people too..damn Asians. (Meanwhile, we be contributing to the Asian horde haha) And second night… just as freezing as the last. We both woke up at around 0500h to go to the bathroom and it was just too cold to go back to sleep…so we ended up making a fire and cooking breakfast at 0600 ish haha. Yay for early mornings D: Packed up our stuff after and left around 0800 cuz it was supposed to rain… again! Worst luck ever. But within the 2 short days, many of the trees had changed colours even more, so the drive back was actually quite pretty… although I only saw half of it cuz I passed out hard. Kudos to Tai… cuz he didn’t fall asleep until he got to my house. And that was our lovely long weekend. :)
2017.07.14 Guess what happened?! That's riiight.. I'm on my way to getting Tai'd down hahah. Would you look at that beautiful handmade ring box that he created?? I've never been one to dream about weddings but I've always wanted a nice proposal. But after he proposed, this was so much better than a fancy proposal. I have such a beautiful creation to cherish for the rest of my life (aside from the super pretty ring of course!) ❤️ It's been such a busy month (although when is it not busy?) with my extra shifts at work.. online course starting..and now rushing to get a wedding venue for next year. Speaking of venues, anyone out there have any suggestions for venues with outdoor facilities anywhere in the GTA. I'm willing to travel a bit to keep costs down. Why do weddings cost so much?! I should just do a backyard wedding and have a BBQ... that'll be a lot cheaper. ><

Late post..yet again. BUT it does not make me any less proud of this man. I’m so so so happy he never gave up and made it into Peel. I am super excited to have him as a coworker. 😄 Just goes to show that hard work and dedication does pay off in the end. I know he got rid of some weight hanging off his shoulders after getting hired. It’s a good time in my life right now. I have a fantastic work schedule…straight days (yay no night shifts) with part time hours (I can actually do other things in my life!) and an awesome partner (which can make all the difference). Tai got hired along with a bunch of my other friends from school..so I’ll be seeing them around. He is finishing up his third mentorship shift today and it’s been pretty good. I must admit…he looks very attractive as a purrmedic in uniform. ;) rawr

Foggy af work days, an anniversary, and Chinese New Year came and went already. Can’t believe it’s the second month of 2017 already. Time flies by so fast. D:
2017.01.14
Poor Tai…I didn’t really get him anything for our anniversary LOL. I was coming off a set of shifts and I totally forgot that I’d be seeing him right after. But he wrote me the most romantic card to date and surprised me with a zink printer which I was drooling over a few months ago. I loved the fact that we just had popcorn, McD’s, and Timmies for dinner. Nothing fancy but special to us because it literally was a combo of what we crave for a lot. We started scrapbooking as well. Who knew that it takes so much work haha. Still haven’t finished any more than what we got done that day lol. Gotta keep working on it. Valentine’s coming up soon already too. It never ends haha.

That fog picture didn’t come through as well, but it was damn foggy I real life. Never seen such fog. Some areas..you couldn’t see past feet in front of you. Honestly, I still hate the driving, although people tell me that it’ll fade with time.
2017.01.30
Tai came over for CNY and we slaved away to make dumplings and wonton soup for dinner. If it hadn’t been for Tai, I would’ve discontented ingredient on the counter hahaha. It was quite the laugh making them with him. My fam enjoyed them…soup was a little bland though…but I added more ginger to the next batch made which really made all the difference.
All in all, I can’t really complain. It’s been good times. Work is always a bit difficult whether it’s getting lost, not being able to talk to my partner, etc. But I suppose these are all growing pains.
Paramedic regrets
This morning, I experienced my first call where the pt was alive when we got on scene and then it just progressively went downhill. Honestly, I didn't think that the pt was going to go into cardiac arrest when we got on scene. He didn't look that pale. I mean..yes, he didn't look like it was his best day but there's a certain kind of ashy, sweaty look that patients tend to have that makes you go "oh shit...let's gtfo." But he didn't have that so I wasn't expecting it when 30 seconds after I had started driving to the hospital, my partner yells at me to pull over and get in the back of the truck...where we then proceeded to run the arrest. We called the firefighters who were on scene to come back and give us a hand. Supervisor came on scene too. And then I zoomed to the hospital from there. My update to the hospital was the crappiest thing ever but at least I told them the pt was VSA (and that's basically the only info I conveyed lol) ..so they knew to have a resusc room ready. Unfortunately, the pt was later pronounced in the hospital and on my way out, I could just hear the wailing of the family member as they were informed of his death by the doctor. Thinking back on the call, I cried. Why didn't I do that a little faster...why couldn't I have been more of help to my partner? I'm so glad I wasn't the one who had to give the death notification to the family..but at the same time, I feel guilty that I didn't talk to them afterwards. There are so many thoughts that are swirling around and every hour, I think of some new mistake or thing that didn't go quite right. Lifeless eyes...I think they're going to start to bothering me. This is the second VSA where I ended up just looking into dead eyes as I was doing cpr within the span of approximately a week. For what it's worth, I prayed that your heart would start beating again the entire time I was doing CPR and the entire time the staff at the hospital was doing CPR. May you rest in peace, sir.
2016.10.06 Sushi burrito + Uniqlo + movie date! Oh man oh man, what a fun day haha. Asked Tai to pick up sushi burritos in sauga before he comes over. It was not a disappointment. So good! We got flaming dragon (tuna based) and rising sun (salmon based)...both of which were delish. Even my parents liked it. ^^ Worth every dollar especially since one burrito can basically feed 2 people (if you're not a big eater). Made it downtown at like 2 or 3 ish. It was apparently a good time to go to uniqlo because the line up was like a 5min wait and it wasn't too crowded inside. And ermagawd, I wanna almost buy the whole store. I love it. Love the aesthetics of the store as well. I managed to pare down what I wanted to 2 bags but still managed to blow near $500. Some people might be like psh...that's nothing but to me , it's the most I've spent on clothes in one sitting. I tried justifying the amount by telling myself it's from the overtime shifts that I took haha. (oh gawd) By the time we left around 5:30, the line up to get in was quite long and the line up at checkouts was crazy long. They must be raking in the monies. Went to North York for movie time cuz the stupid parking near Eaton was only until 6pm. -_- Ended up watching another Korean movie.."The Age of Shadows" which turned out to be much more interesting than I thought it would be. Honestly, I'm tired of Japanese-hate propaganda filled Korean movies ( although I can understand why) so I thought this one was gonna be another one of those but it focused more on the individuals and their struggle to survive. That self toe amputation though...and the finger crushing by pliers...ugh. Gave me the heebie jeebies. The one thing I forgot to get for this day was ice cream hahah. Day isn't complete without ice cream! So thankful I get these mini vacations with my lovely boyfran.

Edit: It apparently didn’t show but my Patronus ended up being a Bassett hound. -_-
puttering along in life
2016.09.21 Wowzers, had a fun call today..first PCP STEMI bypass! My partner totally forgot about the auto RIC device and he didn't know much about it so he left it up to me. Thank goodness for language barriers cuz I didn't have to explain much about it to the pt (or rather the pt's son) haha. " It's supposed to reduce the damage from the heart attack." Patient's son: "Ok ok...anything you need.." Done and done. It was pretty smooth sailing. My partner took over the call cuz he's IV certified and I did code 4 back without crashing yay! Didn't even need meds cuz we picked pt up from doc clinic where he was doing a stress test and he was given ASA and nitro already. ST elevation in lead I, aVL, v2, v3.. vitals stable. He ended up having occlusion in LAD and had 2 stents put in. Overall, fun day. At first, I thought it'd be a silent shift cuz I thought he was one of those crusty medics who don't like new people but turns out I was wrong. Annnd I finally have solid plans to get a sushi burrito with Tai this coming Saturday plus shopping hehe. Plus ice cream. I'm also gonna be an auntie by association next year apparently! I stl feel awkward around babies... But at least I'm starting to think they're adorable..when they're not screaming/crying. Anyways one more day left in my set. I need to go sleep. Until next time!
