cepid:
When she looks at her, itโs hard to describe her, of a language made by men. Words do not come close to how she just, exists, and how she simply and all too complicatedly, does not: how Sunhaeโs world divides into two, as light and the absence of it.ย
Where she is.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย /ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย And where she isnโt.
โAnd yet youโre still not doing it.โ The conversation rarely matters. โNo no, youโre not listening.โ She knows everything she can about her and sheโs sure Hyuna knows too much than she should about herself. The conversation rarely matters and they still muse, three lifetimes later.
She leans in forward to have their foreheads meet, nudging Hyunaโs head till thereโs space between them. Her voice attempts to feign at annoyance but her lips are all smiles, unable to be nothing but around her. Soon sheโs laughing, the roomโs begun to spin, and Hyunaโs at the center of it all. โBut then Iโll do the same, not listen, and just stare.โ Her hands bunch up until sheโs balancing her head on them. Then her eyes lay on Hyuna, as if they have ever done anything else but โ and remain, as if they know nothing but.
โBecause all I can do is that.โ
All she knows: she is a magnitude of beauty that allows her no peace.
Hyuna's beauty is of the mortal kind.
Her appearance, itโll all be lost with time. Sheโll grow old, sheโll die- be stripped from this body. Her soul will be freed but her flesh must burn, return to ashes to where she comes from. She's seen her own body swallowed by the flames, felt the warmth of it, and witnessed how easily it all disappears. This shell, this mask she wears.
But Sunhae, she's forever.
Soon Hyuna will grow older than her. The goddess will forever remain like this, frozen in time, beautiful like the sun, the stars; time does not touch her. Yet Hyuna will have to give into it, let it wipe away everything she has now. It's a mask, temporary, and she's been reminded of it cruelly three times already.
Sunhae will go from her lover to her friend, to her child and to her grandchild- before Hyuna will be made anew through fire, and perhaps Sunhae will become her big sister in the next cycle.
If fate will be so kind.
"You're mean," she whines playfully, pursing her lips together. "I want to hear what you said! Don't keep it from me, now. It's not my fault you look so pretty like this, distracting me." She reaches out to gently brush strands of hair behind Sunhae's ear, delicate fingers lightly caressing the curve of her ear. How much she cherishes her.
"Don't leave me hanging like this." Don't ever leave me. "Just tell me." All your thoughts, I want to have them. "I'm listening now." I never turned away. Even in death, I've never let go.
"Or else we're going to just have to sit here and stare at each other like two giant fools." She can't help the giggles. "And you're not a fool, are you Sunny?" She gently boops her nose with her fingertip, smiling fondly. The center of her universe.
